Let me know where I can find that. I would appreciate it.

He makes some good points, but it doesn't sound like he is any closer to understanding the people who are upset at the choice of "vehicle" than some of them are at understanding the protest. Everyone still seems to be painting this as two sides. You either support the protest and it's cause or you are against the protest and it's cause. I promise you that is not the case for a lot of people.
If we've learned one thing, it's that communicating in a way that is universally understood is all but impossible.
I haven't read the Pavlovitz article, but Timothy Keller writes some very interesting thoughts (from a theologically conservative Christian perspective) on social justice.
It is certainly not a quick fix. I've told you and stated many times that it will require a spiritual fix. We as Christians are commanded to do things that will make a difference in the lives of those who need help. I'm doing what I can. One life at a time. My church is doing what it can and my denomination is doing what it can.
White guilt does not exempt people from becoming engaged.
FWIW, this is a social issue and not comparable with health issues like Cancer. Have you seen any organizations that tout their services to help remove the social injustices experienced by the black man?
I commend you for what you're doing and I have no doubt that it is effective. In offering a solution, it's clear that you see a problem. I think THAT is the point. We will always have disagreements about courses of action, but admitting that there is a problem is the first step to understanding and, ultimately, a more perfect union.
As for comparing social inequality with cancer, sure, at some level they're not comparable. At quite a few others, they are...the level that I was highlighting was that it is something we don't know the "solution" to.
But to answer your question, yes, from mobile health units to literacy services and beyond.
The most impact from a government standpoint could be made by allowing the states to educate without interference from Federal regulations. Instead they stick mandates on states that include common core and standardized testing. How long will the failure of that system be allowed to continue?
Don't expect any changes because they (the Government) really don't want to educate this segment of society.
We don't disagree on that, but we have to take responsibility for our government and push them to change...thus, the protests. Like I said, what the change looks like and the courses of action will not be mutually agreed upon. But, as citizens, ignoring the problem is not an option.
Now begs the question - were the Cowboys actually able to protest or were they doing as their OWNER wanted and would allow?

Which goes back to my point - everything but the original protest by Kap and a few others was a middle finger back at Trump due to his remarks in Bama...
