Dream on. ;)
Maybe they will hire Tommy as the new AD. Then anything is possible. Seriously though, even if offered, I don't think Skip would except. UCF has very high expectations.

Right, not surprising at all. Napier will try for the G5 NY bowl next year and if successful will have his pick. Tennessee is a total mess.

I agree that Napier is in a good spot right now, and I wouldn’t leave ULL for Tennessee. I think the only reason that Heupel goes to the dumpster fire that is Tennessee football is he knows something that’s going on at UCF that we don’t. I feel like UCF football is about to nosedive. What they need is someone like Holtz that can sustain their success.

...Or it could be this little clause added to his Tennessee contract:
Quote:
The university announced that Heupel's annual salary would be $4 million and that he would receive a six-year contract running through Jan. 31, 2027. There is also a gesture of good faith in the deal. If Tennessee receives sanctions by the NCAA consisting of two or more years of a postseason ban and/or a reduction of allowable scholarships to eight or more as a result of the previous violations, Heupel's deal would automatically be extended by a year through Jan. 31, 2028.
That might be an 7-yr deal at $4M per year. Generational wealth, if he can get it out of them.

Current Miami and former tech DC Blake Baker headed to LSU in same position

That is interesting. I knew they had a rough 2020 but thought most of their issues has still been on offense since he's been at Miami. I guess they had a rough second half of the season. Also, did y'all know Rob Likens was coaching at Miami?

Baker was DC in name only, he was basically only going to be the LB coach at Miami moving forward. You don't usually get to be the coordinator after giving up nearly 800 yards in your bowl game including an amazing 554 yards rushing and 62 points. Their defense was bad both years Baker was DC. Diaz was going to call the defense moving forward. Of course, as much as Miami's defense sucked this year and it did suck, it was still light years ahead of LSU's defense this year. LSU's total defense ranked 124th this year ahead of only Texas State, Ole Miss and North Texas. LOL It is awesome to watch LSU suffer a little.

The chigger fans wouldn’t admit it.
Re: 2020-21 Coaching Carousel
Blake (Tulane grad) will be successful at LSU. He's back to familiar grounds and will rebuild back to being DC again somewhere.

According to FootballScoop.com:
"Texas State: Louisiana Tech linebackers coach Brian Gambel is set to join the staff as co-defensive coordinator / inside linebackers coach, per multiple reports."
