In any case, the amount of actual public funding for "public broadcasting" is negligible. NPR is overwhelmingly paid for by underwriting (euphemism for advertising) and donors. But the underlying premise is the same -- they'll sell what sells. They'll give the people what they want.

You answered your own question. People buying McDonalds and Dodge doesn't affect me and honestly I would prefer people be able to buy whatever stupid shit they want to. I am happy for people to consume whatever shit media they want as well. You are correct that people have been manipulated by charlatans since Bible times. It's nothing to get in a tizzy about. Part of the reason I think the "Russia" nonsense was overblown since the beginning. It's nothing new and it's gone on in probably almost every American election ever. What i have a problem with is people smart enough to know better claiming it doesn't affect me or trying to claim that it's not happening.

What are they saying about it? Seems to me that Trump is playing into the hands of the Democrats. This was a turnout issue for the Dems in 2018 and he just guaranteed it will be again in 2020.
