They can save their nation (and many innocent citizens) if they agree to accept those facts and hopefully give up no other concessions. The US and NATO kept teasing the Ukrainians and making them believe they would be offered NATO membership, which was likely never going to happen and which we KNEW would not be tolerated by Russia (Putin or not). I would not agree to demilitarize Ukraine. Actually, I would make sure they become one of the strongest military forces in the region, but remain neutral. I think Russia should pay to rebuild a lot of the country, and NATO probably should as well.
The adults haven't been doing much thinking, if you ask me.
