Our AD is not capable of fixing this problem. Time for our President to find a person who can work with both Learfield and Robkin.
Re: The O.K. "Buddy" Davis Pressbox (former Demolition Thread)
An observation from our game vs Arkansas, their video board production was great. They played quick ads and put up meaningful info. They didn't cut off the band or the crowd cheer "pig sooie". It seems they were very flexible adjusting to the progression of the game vs our rigid gameday script. When Jeremy Sprinkle scored that last touchdown, their fans got lively and started the pig sooie chant. The band fired up. They didn't throw an ad on top of that and kill the vibe.
If the team does something big like recovering a huge fumble or interception, I know Robken will automatically play the Fight Song to pump up the fans. Don't play canned music on top of it!

You'd think this would be easy for folks who get paid to do these kind of things.
1) Play MTC over the message board when the band is in transition.
2) PLEASE decide how many times the lame We Are....Bulldawgs chant will be repeated. Allowing it to just die out after who knows how many reps is even more lame. Three times is plenty IMO.

Champ determines #2 now.

Didn't we hire some video guys for athletics? What are they doing in the FB off-season?
Probably takes maybe an hour to build the graphics (depends on the person's skill set). If they don't have the sound clip of MTC, ask Robken to record it. Combine the video and audio. Export the file. Bam, you have a clip ready to go for 2017 and on.

...been asking for this since the Dooley days. It's one of those suggestions that gets tossed aside because they read it first on THE BBB.

Once a game, in the 4th quarter, is plenty.

I'd say do it once right before the game starts and again in the 4th quarter.

I have a message from Robken back in 2010 saying it would get recorded for the production team. But as we all can see, nothing has come to fruition. Who knows what stopped it from happening.
Re: The O.K. "Buddy" Davis Pressbox (former Demolition Thread)
I agree one or two times done is enough. My concern is that when done it is not repeated a set amount of times. It's like they yell it until the crowd stops saying it.
Oh, and PLEASE stop trying it at basketball games. Good grief!

2010, sounds like the production truck team that we outsourced. They aren't running the board anymore.

There was great balance between ads and band playing my freshman year (2014). 2015 was bad at some points but bearable. This past season was unbearable though. Ads during every break in play and they would play the same generic pop music instead of allowing the band to play. Also several times where they gave the clear to play, just to turn around and say "oops nevermind" 4 beats into a piece.
This post above is very accurate. There was simply no excuse for the video board clashing with the band the way they did this past season. It was bad. real bad. I remember one time it was as if they were both hell bent on playing thieir part, so we had to listen to BOTH --the ads play on the video board, and the band-- for a very long (2-min or so) period. It was really stoopid.
I've never heard of this happening anywhere but LA Tech.

Great post. This is what I mean when I say this stuff only happens at LA Tech. Egos are involved folks, egos.

With our band and Navy's, how did they run it at TCU?

Before Champ started leading it at the beginning of the game, us students would start it. I remember people saying "ok, at x point in time, we're gonna do it." We'd start it and do it several times, but not a predetermined number. The problem with deciding how many times is that it can sometimes take 2 or 3 times before it spreads. So like we might say "We are..." 3 times before we hear the far side saying "Bulldogs!" So if we decide "ok, just 3 times," then we'd be ending it by the time we finally got it going. Even now with Champ holding up signs, it can still take a couple times before everyone notices and joins in, so I don't think you can really set a predetermined number.
I have no problem with doing it at basketball games personally, as long as everyone will participate (esp when we're playing Marshall since they do "We are.. Marshall.") The only time it's really difficult is at neutral site/away football games because most/all of our fans are on one side of the stadium so you can't really get it working well.
I will say I really like how we've started doing it right before the team takes the field. I think it adds a lot to the pregame hype and ceremony, much like how Virginia Tech does "Let's go... Hokies!"
