Our great President has isolated Iran to the point of questionable survival (and they were the most likely to initiate a nuclear incident). The agreement between Israel and the UAE helped quite a bit.

North Korea is still under crushing sanctions and limited to occasional temper tantrums where they launch unarmed missiles into the sea to see if they can get a response out of us. Instead of giving in and sending them cash and food (so they can keep working on their nuke program), we pat them on the head and smile at them while giving them nothing. China and Iran are their only friends.

I'm feeling pretty comfortable these days.

Tensions are heating up in the mountain passes between India and China. Each side accusing the other of incursions into their countries. There is a border dispute and it is in that region that the two sides seem bent on antagonizing each other. Today a spokesman for the Chicoms "hinted" that the US is behind the recent stress, egging on India to test the Chicoms' resolve. He cited the recent defense agreement between the nations of India, Japan...etc. all orchestrated by the US. India denied there is any connection between their defending their border and any international agreements.

In other news, the Brits have launched their new version of the frigate HMS Lancaster, which will undergo sea trials and be ready to escort the carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth group into the Pacific in the spring. And a newly refurbished destroyer HMS Daring is back in active service.

Very latest...in the past 12 hours a brigade of Indian troops stormed and captured several key outposts along the disputed border. The Chicoms are crying foul and accusing India of unwarranted hostile behavior. Since May when tension returned to the region the two sides have exchanged hit and run raids with small unit sizes. This marks the largest concentration of troops either side has mustered. To date, since May, 20 Indian soldiers have been killed (and another 40 wounded) and an estimated 300 Chinese soldiers have been killed or severely wounded. Both sides are moving more assets closer to the border, including fighter jets and tanks.

The Chicom foreign minister laughed off Indian assertions that they are only defending their home turf, saying India is guilty of being the aggressor. The Indian government released a statement that it has been China who has been the aggressor, always crossing the border and then establishing outposts and redoubts along key passages through the mountains. Today's action, according to India, was simply pushing the Chicoms back across the border. It is reported that 135 Chinese soldiers were captured (no reports of killed or wounded) and that these soldiers will be released back to the Chicoms in a couple of days.

It is heating up...hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

Also, CNN released a news story less than an hour ago covering the passage of the USS Halsey thru the Taiwan straight, a guided missile destroyer. An act that the Chicoms view as hostile. And they accuse the US of landing a scout plane, an EP-3, at a Taiwan airfield earlier today, an action deemed as a direct "thumbing of the nose" toward Beijing. The US and Taiwan officials deny the allegation.

Some international pundits say the US is trying to bait the Chicoms into firing the first shot, which the US denies.

The article also covered some of the challenges Taiwan faces as it tries to stand up to the huge bully just across 80 miles of water. It did say that Taiwan has only to defend itself and recent purchases of advanced US weapons, especially coastal missile batteries, would make a Chicom invasion attempt VERY costly. One expert says the Chicoms lack the assets to carry out a successful invasion as their slow, bulky troop carriers would be sitting ducks and 90% of them wouldn't survive the crossing.

India has received the first 20 of an expected 50 French-built Rafael jets, and the Chicoms are test flying their J-20 stealth fighter, expecting to build and deploy 50 fighters. Hmmm...is it mere coincidence the two sides are seeking 50 new planes?

Funny thing, while the Chicoms claim their stealth technology for the J-20 is the best in the world, a US reconnaissance plane many miles away tracked the test flights exactly. Did the Chinks forget to "turn on" the stealth capability? But, to be fair, US officials do say it is pretty good stealth tech. However, like other Chicom planes, it is badly under-powered. The Rafael jets can stand off more than 25 miles and take out any Chicom planes, including the J-20's. The air to air missiles and the jet as a weapons' platform, makes the Rafael far superior to anything the Chicoms have.

Retired general Jack Keane was sounding the alarm the other night re: the Chicoms plan to take over the world. They have a plan that culminates in 2049 when, by their estimates, Red China would have positioned itself as the #1 economic and military power on the planet. Well, that might be their plan...but then again, Custer had a plan. The Chicoms cannot be ignored as they can cause harm and do a lot of damage to innocent peoples. So, they need to be watched, called out, and we need to see more coalitions such as President Trump has pulled together with Japan, Australia, etc...If Red China wishes to present a threat to world peace and stability then the world needs to stand together in opposition.

Not sure how much Europe would participate in a coalition (Other than England) because geographically it doesn't matter currently, and many EU countries have strong economic ties to China. Australia and Japan see the threat due to the proximity. Wonder how Russia would take massive expansion by China.. I would doubt China would start by trying to expand in that direction. Probably focus on SE Asia first.

Norway is part of the Pacific, anti-Chicom coalition. I don't know why. So far, they are only a member on paper, that I am aware of. Have not seen where they have deployed any assets yet. Perhaps they will accompany and work with the Brits' carrier group.

As for the EU I would think if they are concerned about commerce/trade then they would take an active role in counseling the Chicoms to back off their aggressive rhetoric. Keep in mind, there will be no war unless China starts one. And it is the Chicoms who boldly published their doctrine of pushing for world dominance, by 2049. Did they expect the US and other nations to respond with, "Oh, okay."? China is likely to wish to seize Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam first given they are, outside of China and India, the biggest oil producers in SE Asia.

Russia (Putin) would want the Chicoms to start a world war with the US and other "western" allies, while they mostly stay out of it, except to make some invasions where opportunity presented itself.

To the quoted portion, Russia (Putin) will take advantage the current tension between China and India.

Keep an eye on Belarus in the short play.

The Pentagon is crying "the sky is falling" re: the Chicoms' military build-up. It's what you would expect from any guvmint agency...give us more money!!!! Recently they issued a report (warning) that Red China has 350 operational ships, the US only 293. Oh no!

But, our ships are so superior to theirs, especially where it matters the most, in carriers and subs, that it is a total mismatch in monumental proportions. But! remember, we are not in this alone. President Trump has built a powerful coalition with nations who stand to lose a lot if the Chicoms get really aggressive, and the combined navies of all those countries, including ours, is 1,082 ships.

The Pentagon report also touts China's build-up in aircraft, and says they now have a larger air force than we do. Yeah, probably in terms of raw numbers. But, it does not include our naval air craft. If we accept that China now has the largest air force, the US has the #2 (USAF) and #3 (Navy aviation) "air forces" in the world. Combined we still have more planes than they do, and ours are far superior. Then...throw in those of our coalition partners, and it's a huge mismatch.

Missiles...it is true China has more intermediate range missiles than we do, because we adhered to an international treaty limiting that number, and the Chicoms scoffed at the treaty. But, again, we have short range and long range missiles that are all far superior to anything they have. Remember that Saddam Hussein had a "formidable" missile force, some pundits declaring it was the 4th largest in the world!!! But, we all remember how stupidly inaccurate their SCUDS were...aiming at Israel, some hitting Saudi Arabia and Lebanon instead, and many sailing harmlessly overhead into the Med. Sea, and many more traveling no more than a few miles, crashing and killing their own troops! I will say that the Chicoms' missiles are superior to that...perhaps in partial thanks to Klinton selling them missile technology...but still, don't worry about raw numbers.

The Chicoms sent troops to "retake" their captured outposts. Chinese soldiers walked up the road, stopped when commanded to do so by the Indian troops, and then thru a megaphone demanded the Indians vacate the position. After not getting a reply several Chicoms fired their rifles into the air, a move meant to intimidate the Indians. Nothing. More shots fired into the air. Finally on a PA system the Indian commander said, "You missed!" The Chicoms retired back across the border, humiliated again.

There is an international meeting set to convene tomorrow. Not sure of the details, where, what nations are involved, but its primary focus is to bring the rising tensions along the India-China border down a few notches. We shall see...

BTW, I don't know what all the fuss is about. Guess the Indians and Chicoms haven't heard that our Lefties over here demand OPEN borders! Why is either side wasting time and resources defending their border? Ya ain't suppose to do that, er, right Lefties on this forum?

Thailand is the latest nation to tell the Chicoms to take a hike!

Giving into pressure for years, seeking to maintain the peace, and to win favor economically, diplomatically, and militarily Thailand had long adhered to Beijing's wishes in a host of instances. But, emboldened by the US (Trump!!!) led coalition and knowing they have friends in the region, the Thais have cancelled the Kra Canal deal with China and also cancelled the purchase of two Chinese-built subs, at a cost of $750 million (US). The canal would have given the Chicom navy a shortcut and a less risky path from the South China Sea to the Indian Ocean. It was also going to be used to shorten the route of Chinese oil tankers traveling from the Middle East to China, and back. But, the Thais have cancelled the canal deal.

Now, the US can make the Thais a better deal, better subs for less money, and here's another cog in the anti-Chicom machine!

The Chicoms are livid and can feel their dreams of world domination slipping away from them.
