If you want to be extremely technical about it, a quarter of Tech's schedule as is (not including TAMU) is against FCS teams (UTSA, Texas St, Lamar) and another 2 quarters by teams many consider FCS level (Utah St., NMSU, Rice, UNLV, SJSU, Idaho) . You can not, under any circumstances, find any other FBS team that has faced a schedule like this (well, besides other WAC). You can't. There is none. Just stop trying. And pay attention to the outside factors. Tech is on no voter radar. The WAC is not loved.

Yes. Is it sunny all the time in happy BCS wishland? We need the money. We are in year four of budget cuts. You're making my point for me. We need to expand our fanbase or go Sunbelt.

Agreed. Tech should certainly not be passing up the chance to make money in this economy.

And what better way to make some money than by playing a winnable game-in the middle of the fanbase we desperately need to expand for more than one reason-and get paid for it-on TV on Thursday? I'm sure the admin would have passed on the game had a donor said.."don't play this game and I'lll donate 1 million" but it didn't happen. Gotta go earn it.

I take it you haven't paid attention to the financial problems of the university? I agree we don't NEED the game, but we kind of do.

Why bet if TAMU is a sure deal? I stated earlier that if true that TAMU replaces Lamar and Tech runs the table, then yes, we'll get a BCS game. If not and schedule stays the same, call me whatever you want, but I don't think Tech is going to go undefeated anyway.

No, never loved. But it had respect with Boise, Nevada, Fresno, Hawaii, and to some extent Tech. Tech has none of that now. It is the only team left in the conference with any hint of being considered good.

Yes. I ignore him bringing up Ball St. because he ignores everything else related to it outside of records. It wasn't just the record that got teams into the BCS, it was everything else.

I like the way you think. Too many fans want to get it the easy way. It is not like aTm is a world-beater next season. The reward vs the risk is outstanding! It would most likely catapult us into the top 25, and then there is nowhere to go but up. If A&M does well next season after we beat them, that is just gravy! We have the team to finally beat these guys. Now is the time. I love the idea of it. We need to unite with Shreveport. Too many fans on here want to claim Shreveport as our market, but they are quick to insult the city and dismiss them as a proper location for a game. I could see this being a sellout.

Ok. I will give you that. The WAC was indeed stronger with those other teams. Tech just has to move up into the driver's seat now. Hopefully they will be driving a different car (CUSA) in 2013, however. LOL

Virginia @ Virginia scares me WAY worse than Tx/Am in Shreveport.
