We Are... Bulldogs It's about the only cheer that the entire stadium will participate in and you want to complain about that too. Lame? Talk about lame...
Go ahead and provide everyone here on the BBB your ideas for new cheers that you deem as not lame and are original. Then at the first home game why don't you lead the cheer from your seat.
If it's any good it should catch on and be a smashing success. It would be great to have additional cheers to go along with We Are...

We are making progress, albeit two steps forward, one step back. And of course, as has been our history, we are usually our own worst enemy.
Hey! we are pulling further ahead of those we used to hang with! Hey! we are closing the gap on those ahead of us! Oh no! can't have that. Quick! Tech Nation, get a gun and shoot yourself in the foot!!!!

I did. Your reading comprehension is lacking...or maybe you just don't pay attention.

That's not so bad, but the other stuff runs on forever. Normally by the time the band has played the cue and the crowd does the chant our team is snapping the ball again.

That's an old cheer, dating back to the 1950's and maybe before that. As for who started it after our "Move the chains!" cheer, if that was you, ooooo-kay. I'm good with it. But, who added "What he said!"?

That's the part I'm talking about. I'm not sure who exactly started the "What he said" part, but it was from another area of the student section and the next season after my part got started. I always thought it was too much.

K.I.S.S.
People, just go with "MTC, MTC, MTC".

For me, the above is the "official" cheer and the rest is lagniappe the students add to have fun. Let 'em have at it. Us old folks can't understand what they are saying anyway.

Move the Chains and BBB's Wear Blue signs were 'borrowed' from a road game vs Oklahoma State in 2001.

Correct - kinda
I was waiting for someone to bring this up -
The MTC chant was actually started in jest in response to K-State's "And THAT'S ANOTHER K-State FIRST DOWN!" during the road trip to Manhattan late that year
And the "Next Game I'll Wear Blue!!!" signs were borrowed from our trip to Okie State and patterned after their "NEXT GAME I'LL WEAT ORANGE" signs that were posted all over their stadium...

Lots of schools use the "And That's Another.." chant. Me Too U began using it after they saw it modeled by the "visiting" team in War Memorial Stadium, Little Rock.

Where on this O.K. Buddy Davis Pressbox discussion string (what post #) can I read your suggestions for original cheers? I missed it.

Sound about right around 2000.
From my memory as a BOP member, I remember when the MTC cheer made its way into the Joe. The cheer started with fans. During one of the games, Robken took noticed by a large group doing the MTC and on-the-spot added the beginning tag to queue the cheer. He told the band to play the beginning melody of the fight song. It took a few first downs for the band/fans to sync up. The cheer was later taught/coordinated with the cheerleaders and students at an event called "Bark Practice" that year (I believe during Homecoming).
When Dykes implemented the no huddle offense, the cheer bled over to the next play. Robken shorten/refined it to what we hear now.
Re: The O.K. "Buddy" Davis Pressbox (former Demolition Thread)
MTC impresses our visitors. WE ARE BULLDOGS not so much. It should be changed to "LOUISIANA TECH" "BULLDOGS" or "TECH" "BULLDOGS". "WE ARE" rips off Marshall is small time.
And we need to maximize "WE GOT SOME DAWGS UP IN HERE" "AROOF AROOF" and "HOW BOUT THEM DAWGS"
(my cheer suggestions for those keeping count).
