and btw, my wife says she wants lessons in how to use the various firearms we have around the house.
Not sure if this a good thing or a bad thing....

MSRP is lower than that...it's just crazy with the obamanation. An FNAR may be a cheaper option (saw one for $750 on gunbroker). An AR10 might be a middle ground option. You could always get a tactical bolt rifle...Remington 700 sps with a 20 inch barrel and over molded stock...I'd go with a .308.
Anyone have an opinion on the glock 26? Looking for a good concealled carry 9mm.
It's pretty thick for every day carry. I've got a PF9 and it's about as big as I wanna get. Honestly, what I carry most often is the P3AT. If you're only going to get one pistol, I would get a G26 or a S&W M&P 9c. Personally, I'd try to get one tactical size pistol and one CC pistol. Whatever you'll ACTUALLY CARRY is the best thing for you. .380 isn't my favorite caliber, but it's what I'll carry most reliably.
What about the Ruger LC9? My girlfriend has the LCP .380 and i have mixed feelings about it, but with a little more pop and a little larger from I think I may like it, especially for its concealability.
I'd recommend you speak with Brian96 on the LC9. See his comments in this thread:
Thanks, dawgcrazy, for saving me a step.
Only thing I'd add to what I posted earlier is that I looked at all of the small 9s I could find at the gun show. I went there really wanting to like the subcompact version of the Px4, but it is just way too bulky to conceal. The LC9 is, in my opinion, the more elegant of the options available, because it is small, thin, and all the surfaces are smooth. johnnylightnin loves his PF9, and while I don't think the LC9 is worth $100+ more than the PF9, I think it is enough better to justify the price I paid.
I haven't fired an LCP, but the LC9 is significantly longer, but not much if any thicker. I picked up one of these holsters from Walmart and it rides very comfortably in the cargo pocket of my pants.
Handles a Beretta nano the other day. Fit and finish were amazing. Still seemed a little heavier than the pf9 though.
I had a ton of fun with AR 15 and tannerite targets today. Those things go boom really big! I'm trying to figure out how to upload the video and will share shortly. Those of you who haven't used the Tannerite targets yet really need to do so.Attachment 10380

Since mid-December, I've added 7 revolvers to my closet...plus about 500 rounds of .357 to keep them company!
