No but it's starting to turn into a bitchfest...oh wait a minute, this is BB&B! Never mind. Carry on
I think BBB needs a bye week as much as Higgin's ankle. Skip Holtz will be our coach this year and next. You can keep these threads going for entertainment purposes cause that's as much value as they add. Maybe move it to the Trace Adkins board.
I was not a fan of SD’s hire nor was a onboard with SH’s choice. I would have preferred some of the other options that were discussed on this board in both instances. With that said, after Dykes’ first season I thought we were going to be relegated to mediocrity as we had in the past. But, he pleasantly surprised me at how he turned the program around and gave me hope. However at the end of the day, we all knew that he was going to go to greener pastures and my odds on bet was Texas Tech…not Cal. I just didn’t like how he did it and thought he was a scumbag for not waiting for the season to end before interviewing for the next job which was probably naïve on my part.
As for Skip, I’m going to give him his due and the benefit of doubt. Agree that he’ll be here for 2-years as a minimum maybe a year and a half depending on the outcome of the first half of next season. If he’s successful next year and follows up with a good third season…then you can pretty much guarantee that the Coaching Carousel Thread will be lit up! As for this season, I’m just tired of all of the negative “fire Holtz” rhetoric that is not going to change the fact that he is the Head Coach for now and that we lost 3 games that we should have won. I just feel that it doesn’t support us moving forward with some of the inflammatory and divisive comments which would best be served by moving the thread from the open forum to the Hall of Fame Board.
Just my thought. Carry on and Go Dawgs
Perspective check.
How's Monken doing?
He has arguably less to work with and is a first time HC. He gets the benefit of the doubt.
Although, losing at home to FIU is unexcusable (not sure if there were mitigating circumstances for USM in that game or not).
Edited to add: Plus nobody will argue that Nebraska, Arkansas, and Boise were much better teams in terms of talent. Texas State I am not sure about, they did give us a scare last year. Still, USM probably should have won that game in all probability. So he has lost one, maybe two, he should have won with a team still in recovery mode from last year.
