If we can hold them for 4 quarters then WHY change to no pressure prevent last drive. It NEVER works. Yes the dbs should have made the play but no pressure on QB. We left too many pts in red zone but we should never let a team with no time outs drive 60 yds in 50 sec.
Here's that pass them into FG range.Attachment 14158
I don't know that we gave him 10 seconds, so much as the refs gave him 10 seconds
Re: Week 4: @South Carolina (9/23)
So you would rather lose than win by 2? Dumb. At least we would have forced them into two 2-or conversions.

These are the games that will take us where we want to be. We have to beat the Kentuckys and the Mississippis and the South Carolinas and the Arkansas etc not Western-this and Eastern-that and Central whatever
Re: Week 4: @South Carolina (9/23)
Don't forget our DB was in between the QB and the receiver on this throw, with his hands on the ball, in a crowd of 4 other players.
They were very lucky to haul this one in.. and if they didn't we would have won.
Re: Week 4: @South Carolina (9/23)
If ncaa had nfl clock rules we'd have won - :(
Re: Week 4: @South Carolina (9/23)
I'm so irrationally angry right now. Between the extra two yard spots throughout the game, to phantom false starts, to not playing to win, it's just a lot to swallow. When J'mar threw the pick, I knew it was the beginning of the end. He's young and was trying to make a play. I can't fault him for that. I will fault Skip for not coming out throwing to get his confidence back though. He made one mistake and you take the ball out of his hands? Why?
Kudos to the guys for playing hard. One day the ball will start bouncing right for our program.
Re: Week 4: @South Carolina (9/23)
If We get 1st down last drive or score TD then ballgame.
Skip is very predictable & conservative in certain situations.
If not going to throw on last drive in order to run clock then at least use some running plays that feature more than one back. Too predictable at a time when everybody is expecting run. Run the wildcat with Cam or the T formation. USC loaded the box & we ran one back sets or throw on 3rd & 4 to get 1st down. Left too much time on clock to run our PLEASE defense. Please score on us.
Re: Week 4: @South Carolina (9/23)
Not all of 'em, but most SC fans are not just Cocks, they are PRICKS too!

You summed it all up right there, Bruce. We keep doing this stupid crap in every big game we play- S Carolina, Kansas St,... 3-man rush prevent defense and it BURNS US 100% OF THE TIME!!!! We are too stubborn to learn from this mistake, so we just keep repeating it over and over again.
Re: Week 4: @South Carolina (9/23)
Our Bulldogs dominated a SEC team on their own field for 3 1/2 Qtrs, fought hard on Off. and Def....
The loss hurts but still think our Bulldogs hung in there!
This team should win out for the rest of the season and go 10-2 going into the conference championship game!
Which will be in Ruston this year!11-2.. I will take that!

Last drive we threw until Kam made the big play to ariund the 12/13 yd line on the screen with about 2 minutes left. At that point you have to run the ball to make them burn TO.
I would like to see an option play

Note the LB standing around nearly 10 yards from the QB. He's not pressuring the QB, nor is he covering anybody. When he finally rushes in the QB has already had a world of time to find a receiver shaking off a DB. This one is on Blake Baker and Skip Holtz not putting our players in position to force a hurried/poor decision by the QB.

I'll be surprised if we host the Cusa championship

We'll find a way to Tech it up.
I'm seeing a loss to USM and possibly UTSA. We have the talent to win those games, but I have 0 faith Holtz will be ready.

He is most likely playing spy on the Qb in case he takes of running again.
