Oklahoma offered Louisiana Tech commit and class of 2022 tight end John Locke just ahead of next week’s national signing day.
Awe man. So the question becomes, does John Locke become one member of an already crowded TE room at OU, or does he stay with LA Tech and new coach Sonny Cumbie? I truly think a TE in Sonny Cumbie's offensive system could end up having a big major statistical year.
This isn't like recruiting a lineman, or WR, or a DB, where multiple players playing the same position can all be on the field at the same time. Nope. Rather it's more like recruiting the position of QB; a school only needs one (1) Tight End on the football field at a time. By my count, Locke would be at least OU's 5th TE. I think he needs to seriously weigh the possibility of sitting on the bench at OU vs possibly being a star TE in Sonny Cumbie's new offense at LA Tech.
I think it's a preferred Walk-on offer at OU / at least that's what I assume the symbol on 24/7 means. John Locke, O'Connor, Tight End (247sports.com)
Locke posted that he’s signing with Tech tomorrow
You know his stars go away once he transfers to a non P5
He was being recruited as a LB by most schools. LSU even caved and let him play WR but recruited him as a LB/hybrid DB.
