Plenty of WRs have already been drafted. QP will go today, but the shine is off of his value. He's not very fast and he dropped too many passes. We all know about his intangibles: heart, attitude, etc... and he's 2nd to none in those areas. But the NFL is also about RAW physical ability. As someone else posted, QP is back to square one and he has to earn a spot on a roster. I'm betting that he will, and that 4-5 yrs from now the NFL gurus, the talking heads in suits on all those silly shows, will be saying how The General "came out of nowhere and is a big surprise" out of the 2013 draft. Keep your head up QP! It'll all work out for ya.
QP is my second favorite Tech player of all time!! Tim will always be first because he is the reason I chose to go to Tech. That being said, I think QP will have a long career in the NFL and should have been drafted in the 2 round!! I'm rooting for you today QP!!!

At this point, I would have to guess there's a medical or other hidden concern with Quinton Patton. Really thought he could go in Round 1.
Dang!! QP deserves so much better!
Quinton Patton picked by the San Francisco 49ers with the 128th pick! I waited for him to be picked since the 2nd round.
Oh and let me tell everyone something right now. Patton is fast. He has NFL speed. Does he have elite NFL speed? No. But he is faster than the average NFL WR. His 40 time in Indy and at Pro-Day proved that. People still don't get that the majority of players in the NFL at WR/DB DON'T run sub 4.5/40's.
His bench press was unimpressive even for a WR but I've seen him beat press coverage. The CB from Illinois that he absolutely TORCHED got picked before him.
Yes. If you're not blazing fast, have a great vertical leap, and other raw physical attributes you have to have great hands. That's why guys like Welker and Lance Moore, etc make it in the NFL. Mike Mayock, who I don't really care for, likes to hear himself talk, summed up QP's drop in the draft from the projected 2nd to 4th round, and 16th WR selected, with three points: 1) 40 time 2) hands 3) upper body strength. I'm not saying I agree with the NFL scouts' assessment, just stating why QP was a 4th rounder. Now, IM not-so-humble O! I think QP will make all those NFL idiots wish they had taken him over some of those drafted ahead of him. One guy had something like 80 career receptions, but by gosh! he has a helluva vertical leap! That was the main reason given to support his selection. :icon_roll:
Swope from A&M had one of the top 40's and maybe THE top bench press with a good vertical and he went after Patton.
These NFL guys don't know what they want. ...Very random. The smallest thing could drop you several rounds.
