Thank you, Sonny Dykes & Tony Franklin for a great 2-year ride in 2011 and 2012. Those were two of the most exciting and most successful football seasons in LA Tech history. During this period our beloved Bulldogs won 17 football games and seized coveted road victories over teams from the ACC, the Big Ten, and the SEC. In 2011 the Dogs forced Mississippi St into overtime in Starkville. In 2012 Tech went toe to toe with Texas A&M & Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, losing to the Aggies 59-57, in one of the most exciting football games of the year. LA Tech even won a WAC football title in 2011 after beating both Nevada and Fresno St on the road. Our Dogs even went to the San Diego Poinsettia Bowl that year, and competed very well against a powerful TCU team, where the final outcome of the game wasn't decided until late in the 4th quarter.
Deep into the 2012 season, our Dogs cracked the Top 25 on two different occasions, and ultimately led the nation in points scored per game. It was EXCITING as hell. Fans jumped on board. Attendance at Bulldog home games flourished, as more and more people came out to see one of the most exciting brands of football north Louisiana had ever witnessed.

When we went up 10-0 I turned and looked at the wife and said it won't last. She couldn't believe I was such a downer. After the game was over she understood.
Even in 2006 when we won 3 games and lost to the butt vandals on homecoming , I never missed a game and always had a glimmer of hope we could win. Not this year. I can't do it anymore. I doubt if the southern miss game has 10k actual people there.
Do you ever wonder if the dude that came up with the word apathy really cared if it would catch on? We still have two home games to cook our asses off and sneak inordinate amounts of hard liquor into! This isn't about the team or pride anymore..it's about tailgating, friends, family and football weekends...not just the game but more so the game day. We might just beat South Miss which would make me so damn happy I might just pee in Hogdawgs panties for him...unless he goes about it first-wise! Anyway.....
