lsu grads and bandwagon fans who work in the oil and chemical industries have been migrating here at a steady rate for the last few years, so they're not all katrina refugees.

I will drop nothing. You do as you please and so will the rest of us. I don't see anything in this thread where anyone mentions what lsu people think about. The content of this pro-Tech thread seems to not represent your opinion on the subject and it obviously upsets you, so feel free not to participate - in the same way this thread describes many Tech folks opting not to participate in the trappings of lsu.

The oil and chemical industries have been here for many, many years and LSU grads have been dribbling over for that period (as have TECH grads). It has only been since Katrina that I have seen the number of LSU bumper stickers really sky rocket.

My grandson thought he would get to me and wear an LSU shirt to my house. His dad, a USL graduate, put him up to it. When he walked in I told him he would not be allowed to eat in my house. I was serious! He had that look on his face like "what have I gotten myself into". He turned the shirt over and was then allowed to eat. He has never tried that on me since. He follows the Dawgs now and asked me why Driskel holds his hands in front of his face when taking the shotgun snap. Start them young so they know LSU is NOT number 1 in Louisiana! :D

Follow the money to see how lspoo by design hurts Tech, your alma mater, year in year out for decades. And that's not to mention them not allowing a medical, vet, or law school to ever have been built at TECH.

Most of this was started by our infamous governor/senator Huey P. Long. He was instrumental in locating the LSU medical school in New Orleans to directly compete with Tulane.

no doubt the dribbling has been going on for a long time. i think recent job market conditions (in both louisiana and texas) have turned that dribble into more of a stream.

I bring a busload of children to 1 men's basketball game each year. Only the children with blue (or red) shirts are allowed on the bus. This is made very clear in all announcements and in all correspondence to parents. Many come in TECH shirts and others just wear the blue or red school uniform shirt.

So far, only one child has shown up wearing the purple/yellow of lsu. I told him he couldn't go. He took off his shirt to reveal a brand new blue TECH shirt underneath. He gave the lsu shirt to his mom and they had a good laugh. I smiled on the outside, but didn't like their attempt. I haven't followed him closely, but the last I heard about him several years ago, he was attending TECH.

AMEN! I fail to understand how anyone expects for Tech to ever grow to the point of being a real threat to lsu, if they don't stop supporting lsu. It is ridiculous. Louisiana Tech is in the unique position to become the Virginia Tech to Virginia, the Georgia Tech to Georgia, and even the MState to Ole Miss, and even the Texas A&M to Texas and Auburn to Alabama. YES, we have a long way to go, but are slowly growing and getting there. One day we COULD be in a P5 conference. We will never get there, as long as people don't see lsu as a threat to Tech and an INSULT to our players in supporting them. North and Central Louisiana need to get behind the up and comer program! Maybe some don't want to see that, but I and many other have that goal. If you aren't trying for that, you may as well give up. Louisiana Tech is in the perfect position. It will take a while, but IS possible.

I am SO proud of how far we have come. We have a consistent record of beating P5 teams in football and basketball. Keep moving forward. One day people in N. Louisiana will get it!

I am so proud of how far we have come and want more!

this site is just "tigerdroppings: north" sometimes...too many of these type threads over the years regarding lsu. I seriously doubt their message board says anything about tech ever. if I was an lsu fan and read this thread I would laugh at tech fans' obsession with a school with whom we do not share a conference and whom we rarely play. aren't we playing southern miss for a division championship this weekend? lsu is playing texas a&m for nothing at all.
