They're not coming looking for your info. It's just a condition to do business with them. Go to a concert somewhere else.
And it's a little inconsistent to say "don't roll over when the government says to" when you're the one taking the state's side. Pick a lane.

I'm saying that the government is overreaching in their interference into private businesses like Billy Bob's.

I think I could "steel man" your argument some for you but I'm not really inclined to do that (because I'd still be right, and nobody else is looking to get convinced one way or the other).
I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings when I implied you supported "big government" over private business just because you support a law that does so. We all contain multitudes.

I wouldn't go there anyway. But that's not the point. State and local governments have purview in these confrontations. At least we know Texas' state government is better than Louisiana's.

From my experience, HIPPA only prevents healthcare providers from sharing your private info without your approval. It does nothing to prevent a private business or government owned facility from asking you to provide information to gain admittance. You can choose to meet their demands or do business elsewhere. I hope every business that requires this proof sinks like a rock, but they are allowed to do it if they want. Just like I think a business can choose not to serve someone for a multitude of other reasons if they want. Society will determine if they make it.
