I like Safford at 2nd. He isn’t hitting, but Ince isn’t blowing the cover off the ball and he missed 3 plays yesterday that should have been made. Put Evans anywhere and I bet he plays at least as well as the next man. His bat has to be in the lineup. Davis at 1st is good. Burchfield at DH.
If I was deciding things based on what I’ve seen and know from last year this would be the team I’d go with…

3 Davis 2nd
4 Evans 1st
5 Burchfield DH
6 Bates 3rd
7 Corona C / Slaughter
8 Hogart RF
9 Drost CF / Matulia
Davis looks lost at 2nd to me -
I don't trust Matulia in CF

Sometimes you just gotta call BS. Both players remained with the team in Fayetteville and then were in the dug out Monday night. LB said before game 2 vs Air Force that Corona had a back issue.
We had a great overall time at this second game (first time in the new park). Score was disappointing, and yeah - we've got to find some pitching ASAP, but the kids loved it. Kicked off several requests for catch from the 7yo (which is a win). He really fell in love with basketball this year after playing for the first time, but you can see baseball still has hold of him too. Shame he won't be ready to pitch for the dogs this season. Big southpaw always handy (although he does love and fit well at first).
