It seems like over-reacting to predict or at least project that 0-12 is a possibility, but it is. This time next year, I suppose it's possible that Crummy managed a 2-10 season and the kool-aid drinkers will be saying, see, no 0-12. We weren't far from 0-12 this year, saved by the fact we had one of the weakest, if not THE WEAKEST, schedules in Tech history. We were lucky to rally and beat FIU. NSU was a total disaster heading for 0-12 themselves but the program imploded. And UTEP, given it was a road game, was okay, I guess.
The few decent players we had this year will all be gone, some to graduation and the rest to the portal. If you're a good high school or college player entering the portal, would you want to play for Coach Crummy?
Re: Stuck with Cumbie for another year?
For all the decisions Cumbie has made over 2 years at Tech, at least he didn’t rush 2 in a prevent defense on 4th and 30 with a 4 point lead and give up the game winner.

It wasn’t really the rushing two that killed them. If you’ve got 9 guys in coverage, you put all 9 in the endzone and tell them to watch the QB and play the ball when it’s thrown. The defender had his back to the ball when he threw it and had no idea it was coming.
Re: Stuck with Cumbie for another year?
Just heard us mentioned on ABC broadcast. Bottoms 3 in the country against the run. Didn’t realize we were that bad.

I'm watching UGA-Ga Tech and they said, as UGA ripped off a long run, Ga Tech gives up 230 yards rushing per game, only Louisiana Tech is worse in the nation. I have company over and maybe I didn't hear it right, but I thought that's what I heard.
Re: Stuck with Cumbie for another year?
They said only La Tech and North Texas are worse

We trailed for 58 minutes to an FIU team that passed for 4 yards the entire game. We deserve to be shamed more than we are in the sports media.
Re: Stuck with Cumbie for another year?
In the news to the east, ULM cares more about their football program than we do and fires Bowden.
Cumbie may locate some coaches needing jobs in the area.

Don’t worry someone will come along and recommend we hire Matt Kubik as OC. ULM averaged 17 ppg and a little over 6 yards per passing attempt.

Genius idea.
Re: Stuck with Cumbie for another year?
As an ex football player when we actually had one of the best defenses in the country, a lot has changed since then, so I want to give Cumbie another two years maximum to get his shit together, But this display was unacceptable which is obvious I know safety is a huge concern, but everybody wearing those double helmet covers just takes the life out of me anyway, I’m trying to stay optimistic here
Re: Stuck with Cumbie for another year?
Ruston high school wins the state championship 31-17. I wonder if there’s even one player on that team that will come across the street to play at Tech.
Re: Stuck with Cumbie for another year?
Jadon Mayfield is committed to Tech. Good player and hope it sticks.
