Now, as a Ouachita Parish taxpayer, let ME give you some facts about the multi-million dollar capital improvement projects being completed in western Ouachita Parish.
The $600,000 turf was paid for with parish school sales taxes ($500,000) plus a donation from the Rebel Booster Club of $100,000.). They're preparing now to do a turf practice field.
The $2 million dollar fieldhouse modeled after the one at Northwestern State University: again, sales tax dollars, but no booster club money . . . funded with the same sales tax money as the new fieldhouse at West Ouachita High School.)
Indoor practice complex: Don't think that's been approved yet by the school board.
My own personal opinion: they deserve every penny of it. West Monroe High School has built a fine program, but not all of it was done by the booster club, but mostly by people in the community paying sales taxes.)

Does anyone besides me think we should take the 6ft crown off the field first and actually have a flat field.

I don't have a degree in turfdom, but I suspect the crown is there to help (but not much) drainage. The fact the field is built over a creek bottom, I've been told, is the culprit.

A lot of disinformation on that subject.
My point is it will take somekind of a booster orginazation to make things happen.
That my be just a dream.

In response to the dreaming....

The foundation would be called: Louisiana Tech Athletic Facility Foundation (LTAFF). Mission would be only to finance, design, build and donate capital projects to the LaTech athletic department. Annual membership say 2500 @ $500 = $1.25M + all donations welcome.

For example:
1. enclose the south endzone and add a two story building in the area between the current field house and the new seating area (approx 40 feet wide by 200 feet long). The new building addition could be used for new offices and training facilities, and the portion of the 2nd story enclosed section facing the field could be made into corp. (lux suites) seating.(and... you guessed it - the new suites would also be available to the members of LTAFF for a modest additional charge)

Maybe privatize the new endzone seating section (corp. logos on every seat - which can be changed out every year) and use the cash to pay off the "loan" from the LTAFF. Maybe customize a portion for the band.

Do not forget that selling out the enlarged stadium brings more bucks. Also, it is probably more attractive to CUSA and MWC if we have more seating capacity (with corp. suites). - though my personal preference is still to grow the WAC

What pushed me to the other side was when in the late 90's he purposely roped off the upper EAST side to try and force people into the lower sections so it would look good on the news cast -

It was either in 1996 or 1997 - can't remember which -

But after that day I refused to sit on the east side and started actually sitting on the west side where my tickets were actually at -
