Not hell -- purgatory.
Usually means it wont come back until next session. It's a way of killing it without actually voting it down.

Well......don't the constituents of Louisiana get SOME kind of explanation for this?

One that you or I would find acceptable?

The "explanation" is loud and clear--North Louisiana must yield to the interests of LSU A&M in Baton Rouge. What's ironic is some people up here are so brainwashed, they LIKE it!

LSUBR is not the problem. The LSU System organization is the problem.

Would somebody please explain all this "reading between the lines" horsecrap? (Some folks love to speak in platitudes.)
I'm very surprised that there's not more information about how and why this bill was shut down today in BR, and WHO was responsible for doing it. Even more, WHAT has been the immediate reaction of the folks on our side? Is this a SERIOUS setback or only a temporary one?
It looks to me like it was shut down too easy and too quietly. Then again, I'm just trying to get all the facts.

The whole S'port/BR relationship has been compared to an abused lover that keeps going back for more:
SBC politicians to strictly platonic friend, SBC business: He's changed, and this time he really means it. I know BR loves me deep down. This time it'll be different. I'm just sure of it.
Later, back at BR's trailer: Shut your face S'port or I'll give ya something to cry about! Now get yer butt back in that kitchen and make me some pie!

No one knows that it has been shut down. Only one person reported that. I don't think that is the case. Wait and see.
