Two weeks of quarantining at the White House will be no big deal. The odds of either the president, or the first lady having serious issues with this virus are minuscule.

Disappointing job creation numbers, 661K new jobs, but unemployment rate is down to 7.9%.

Back in March, or so, Goosey wanted posters to make predictions on the unemployment rate by election day, or whatever he was droning on about. I'm sure Goosey will trot out the predictions from back then.

Around 5 percent for dying and 16 percent for hospitalizations for people in POTUS’s age cohort. Lower for FLOTUS. Whether you call that minuscule or small, they will most likely be fine.

Just wait, the white collar blood-letting is only just about to start. The first wave was mostly service level jobs in hospitality and retail industries. It is about to get real ugly in energy and travel.

Also, temporary cuts are becoming permanent. What looked like a temporary furlough to cover short term cash crunch for most companies has evolved into a rethinking of long term labor needs and many companies will not be adding these jobs back anytime soon. A long boom market has led to many inefficiencies and companies are looking to come through this recession leaner and more profitable. But that is bad news for the labor market in the short term.
