I think they built Griffs in Ruston in late 1966 or early 1967. I remember it being built.

If one were to nominate that building to the National Register as the best remaining example of mid-century roadside architecture in Lincoln Parish, I anticipate Ruston would have a new historic landmark by the end of this year.

It was 1966. I was living in an apartment that fall semester (yes, before quarters), and I would have starved if it hadn't been built!

Wasn't it the spring of 1966. Seems like it was the second semester my freshman year. But since I had a seven day meal ticket and no car, didn't go there often.

Yep, prior to Griff's, the other food establishment choice, close to campus, was the Magic Grill. Everyone called it the "Tragic" or "The Greasy Spoon". :)
