Did they incite a mob into attacking the Capitol back then? No need to make theoretical comparisons when reality proves the facts are materially different. These companies don’t want to be associated with a failed overthrow of the US government. That is very wise.

as much as i would love for trump to be barred from future federal office, i just don't see compelling evidence that he incited the riots. maybe i missed something, but everything i've seen just seems like your basic political rhetoric and whining that is common to sore losers in nearly every election. if anything, twitter and the rest of the tech companies are just as complicit for attempting to silence the conspiracy theorists -- it just makes people assume there is something to it...

It'd be really hard to prove in a criminal court. Impeachment is a little different standard I think, but I really think it would be (will be?) counter-productive. It'd be tempting to try to send a message (and that could be valuable) but if it's ultimately not successful, you've just given him another "win" and another "look how much they're unfairly out to get me" narrative.

Deutsch Bank will no longer do business with Trump. Closing his accounts.

Signature Bank will no longer do business with Trump or the congresspeople that voted against certification.

Being reported that McConnell supports impeachment. Of course he is still just one vote, but it does send the message I was expecting. The Swamp wants to make sure Trump can't run again in 2024. I don't know why they are concerned. If he wins a nomination or even the general election they will just steal it from him again. They should let him run just to steal it, and they can all gather and share a good laugh.

In the bigger picture, if GOP senators, enough of them, vote for impeachment, it is political suicide for the GOP. It is DOA!
