Y'all ignore history and evidence to the contrary because it doesn't fit your cemented uneducated opinion.
You ignore everything outside of records when you know records do not tell the story.

I can't believe you guys are arguing that we shouldn't take this game b/c we might go undefeated otherwise.
Now, the argument of whether it should played in S'port or Ruston is a little different. I can see reasons for either. That said, I don't think our chances of winning the game increase by playing it in Ruston over S'port...
Don't misunderstand me.
My preferences:
1. TAMU in Ruston
2. Lamar in Ruston
3. TAMU in Shreveport
I never said that we were going to bust the BCS by running the table. I said that this would be our one and only chance at ever doing it. I said that it was not likely and even gave y'all my probabilities.
I have provided multiple reasons why I do not like playing A&M in Shreveport. It was not just about killing our chance at a BCS bowl.

I agree completely with your first part. You do not turn down a home game with A&M under any circumstances. Normally you don't turn down a Shreveport game versus A&M, but the circumstances in this case were fairly unique.

Give me your reasons so I don't have to scroll through all this stuff, please...

It's moot now, but it's still true. I don't mind this game so much, but I think we'd have had a pretty good shot if we were undefeated with our previous schedule.
As long as we go undefeated with our new schedule, then everyone will be happy (except maybe maddawg, who will be looking forward to women's basketball anyway).
Ball State wouldnt have made it because they had other non aqs who came into the season with more hype who made it to the BCS. We are expected to be good but we arent going into the season like Boise, Hawaii and even Houston did last season and you guys are all ignoring that fact.
Re: Tech vs TAMU in Shreveport this fall
How in the hell do you know if this going to be are only chance. Nobody knows the future.

Utah is in the PAC-12 now.
TCU is in the BIG 12 now.
Hawaii is in shambles right now.
Boise State might be playing in the Big East in 2012. Boise State loses 18 starters going into the 2012 season, the most in the country.
BYU and Boise State play each other this year. One potential BCS buster will be eliminated with that game.
WE play Houston. One of us will be eliminated in that game.
Ball State WAS in position for a BCS game that year. All you have to be is in the Top 14 or Top 16. Ball State was sitting pretty at #12.
We are currently more hyped up than Ball State ever was.
Re: Tech vs TAMU in Shreveport this fall
Nothing fires up the Triple-B faithful and generates 500+ posts in less than a week than a good old Shreveport game.

I don't think the BCS will exist as we know if after 2013. With 39? rising seniors in 2012, I don't think we'll have a shot in 2013.
Re: Tech vs TAMU in Shreveport this fall
Of all the pros and cons to argue over this game - whether we go undefeated with the addition of A&M to the schedule instead of Lamar is the most illogical and most assinine -
120 D1 teams and how many went undefeated last year?
Even if you beat Lamar - you still have the other 11 to play and NO ONE gives a rats ass except the 18K that show up at JAS and you have NO buzz in the regional or national spotlight
And IF we finish 11-1 or 10-2 with the lone loss being A&M or one of the losses being A&M - I guarantee you we will be ranked and NO ONE will give a rats ass that we lost to A&M on a regional or national scale

Its only BS cause you dont agree with it. Look I love my school but I never let that blind my judgement which is something you clearly can't do. YOu mentioned Houston-nothing expected from them this season. Two BCS teams who will not be in the top 25, at the time 2AA teams and the worst conference schedule in the country..Now you tell me who is full of BS.Whatever your smoking please, please, pass it. Quit comparing us to what Boise,TCU,Hawaii, and Houston last season we arent going into this season with that type of hype and you completly ignore that fact..That said thanks for listening.
Re: Tech vs TAMU in Shreveport this fall
I want to reiterate this argument while I'm at it... Playing at Illinois is no worse than playing at Fresno (Fresno is usually better than them.) Playing at Virginia is comparable to playing at Nevada (do a statistical comparison over the past 5 years). The designation "AQ" doesn't automatically mean they have a superior team. With the loss of Nevada, Hawaii and Fresno--Illinois and Virginia would be comparable to upper echelon teams of the old WAC.

You've insisted that you are not arguing against this game because the possibility of going to a BCS bowl without it. Aren't you talking out both sides of your mouth?
