Re: Back to the important stuff....
US 6 Panama 2
US Men's team fielding youngsters and they do show signs of talent, but truthfully, this was a friendly "friendly." Yeah, some yellow cards for bad tackling and some hard feelings, but there was no defensive intensity from either side. Looked better in the 0-0 tie with Wales.

Maradona dead at age 60. Great player who lived a hard life. RIP.

Sucks...knew he had gone in for brain surgery. Sorry to hear this. Diego Maradona...ironically best known for his infamous punch of the ball for the GW goal at the World Cup...was one of the all-time greatest.

Heart attack during recovery, years of drug and alcohol abuse probably contributing factor. Sad.

Right...like I won't use "LOL." :icon_roll:
Point of the "Duh!" was because everyone KNOWS he used his hand and thus the reference of "the Hand of God" goal.
Re: Back to the important stuff....
USWNT 2 The Netherlands 0 a rematch of the World Cup final with the exact same result. US played a younger squad, especially on defense but did have both of our lock-down stars back there, Julie Ertz at holding midfielder and of course, the incomparable center back and captain of the line, Becky Sauerbrunn. At age 35 still going strong. A rock on defense. The youngsters played well, but made some mistakes...Sauerbrunn was right there to clean up the mess each time.
Alex Morgan returned after "her having a baby hiatus" and looked sharp and fit. Running well, and just missed a goal...well she scored but was called for offside (she was). The USWNT has played 9 matches in 2020 (virus related shortened schedule), has 8 shut outs and has allowed just one goal. Defense and possession in the midfield wins World Cups.

Re: Back to the important stuff....
USWNT picking up where they left off, sweep Columbia in two matches by a combined 10-0 score. That is 34 games in a row now. Talk about a dynasty!
Re: Back to the important stuff....
USWNT 1 Canada 0
Tough match. US team looked awful, out of rhythm. Props to the Lady Canucks, they played well, and missed a couple of good chances to score. That's 35 straight and another shutout. Have allowed only one goal since the semi-final win in the 2019 World Cup.
Tough test on Sunday vs. Brazil.
Re: Back to the important stuff....
USWNT 2 Brazil 0
Goals: Press 11th min Rapinoe 88th min
10th straight shutout...that's 900 minutes of a clean slate.
