and to sit patiently while a waitress finally makes an appearance and takes care of a table of 8's drinks and doesnt even glance your way to take your drink order. Then you have to almost grab them by the arm to turn them around. Then hear, "oh, im sorry, she didnt tell me i had someone else, she usually does" uh, you had to go around me and the family to get to the table of 8. I've had some good service at the Dawg House but this chick was the worst.Quote:

Figured out a trick though: Order a beer. Unless they're noticably swamped and/or short-handed (which having worked in a couple restaurants before, seems to be the case a lot of times. Still can't absolve the attitudes, though), this has never failed me.
It amazes me how places like this stay in business as tough as the food service industry has it right now.....the one that really surprised me the past couple of weekends after the games was Raising Cains...... for a fast food joint they were packed and there were cars almost all the way out into the street waiting to use the drive thru lane. I've been in Texas since they came along and have never gotten to eat there.....must be pretty good!Quote:

man, i've never got anything but WAY ABOVE AVERAGE service at Canes and everything i've seen at the one in ruston is Tech or Grambling. Now Melvin's, you're mess'n with kin folk there buddy'ro !!! we actually eat at Melvins about once a week at lunch and its normally packed and i cant think of a time the serivce was poor. Of course i realize i just put a curse on myself and it'll take an hour and a half to get out next time.Quote:

Santa Fe Cattle Company is not coming. Any rumors you hear are just that ... Things are are always talked about but often the economy, feasibility, timing, etc ... will dictate whether they actually come to fruition. I tell everyone I talk to that I have learned not to put much stock in what I hear until I see workers on site setting forms and getting ready to pour concrete.
Never had good service at the Dawg House. It is just expected that the service will be terrible. I go in knowing that it will be the case. It is almost part of the atmosphere, but it doesnt mean to be. Always have a waiter/waitress that acts like they have 10,000 other things better to do and the food takes an hour to get out, but hey, I love the wings and sweet potato chips. Just got to be sure to get their early, eat, then go tailgate.Quote:
