There's nothing wrong with carrying "good debt" on a balance sheet, especially when the debt rates are as absurdly low as they are today. With rates this low, this is a GREAT time for athletic programs --and universities in general-- to leverage their balance sheet and borrow money for new facilities and infrastructure.

I don't think a lot of people understand just how low interest rates are these days. 5 to 10 years from now, rates could easily be 2 to 5 times what they are today.

AND seems to me that costs for construction were at all time lows 2 or so years ago if we'd have just started to build!!!! Not sure, but think we've probably missed that savings.

Second, "it's". You are the AD of a Tier 1 Research University. Learn some grammar.

Third, and most importantly, the post provided exactly no information on the actual Q4E project beyond reminding us that he's not forgotten about it. This is, in my opinion, worse than if he actually had forgotten, since he has failed to move the project forward in any way.
