9/19 Tech @ USM (6:30 PM) - Game

....Well, this past weekend was as great example. I never heard one word about 30 (or 36) LA Tech players --including 6 starters-- not being available for the USM game until the subject came up on game night. You know Vegas knew about it many days earlier.

How do we have that many players not available for the USM game, and nobody on this board knew about it in advance? Surely with that many players forced to sit out, word had to be spreading around campus all week?

I wagered Tech plus the pts.

The final test was Thursday and the results was not know until Friday. I don't expect our HC wanted anybody to know until he had to release his travel roster to USM. I'm not sure when that has to be done. Early Saturday maybe? Somebody here will know.

Vegas has ways of getting information. I've never understood, but apparently there are some creepy insider peeps (players/coaches) who are willing to feed information to them.

Skip said one player got cleared after the team left and was driven down by car Saturday morning.

Most likely their algos are better at predicting the follow through impact of having 36 positive COVID tests the week prior. Anyone thinking we would go into this game at full strength hasn’t been following the news.

Correct. We didn't know the exact travel roster until Saturday morning.

Also, Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports tweeted on Saturday afternoon that we were without 20 on the 2 deep. That moved the Vegas line by several points.

"Alsgos" perhaps in part, but you can't deny there is always a source of information leaking to the odds makers. Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports didn't use "Algos" to calculate we were without EXACLY 20 people on the two deep.
