Hi gang:
Today (May 22) is the anniversary of Johnny Carson's 1992 last show. Hard to believe it's been 22 years. In honor of Johnny maybe we can come up with some "Carnac the Magnificent" routines on the Sun Belch or I Bowl. Until then:
Do you know why Tennessee chose orange as its school color? So their fans can wear the same outfit to the football game Saturday, deer hunting Sunday, and picking up trash on the road on Monday.
Know how many SMU students it takes to change a light bulb? Three: one to call the caterer, one to call out for drinks, one to call Mommy and Daddy to change it.
Know how many Arkansans it takes to change a light bulb? None, there is no electricity in Arkansas.
From today's "John Boy and Billy Big Show" radio program a few things you've never heard anyone say:
- We've got too much hot water in this house.
- Those new Crocs you're wearing look badass.
- We've got Monday off, that really screws up my weekend.
- I just woke up, can you take my picture?
- This charger cable is too long.
- Mom's on Twitter now. Cool!!
MAY 23:
Our birthday boy born on May 23 was a "Marvelous" boxer who reigned as undisputed middleweight champion from 1980 to 1987. He compiled a remarkable 62-3-2 record across his historic career. He actually legally changed his first name to Marvelous after becoming upset that the announcers never referred to him as Marvelous like he had asked. Maybe he was a good businessman since he is known as a "Hagler." He made lots of money so he's no "starvin Marvin." Happy 59th to him.
- Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, notorious outlaws, were ambushed by law authorities and shot to death south of Gibsland, LA, in 1934.
- Heinrich Himmler, Hitler's second in command, committed suicide in 1945 while in Allied custody by using a tiny vial of poison in his mouth at the time of his capture.
- Joe Pepitone of the New York Yankees set a major league baseball record by hitting two home runs in one inning
