....well, he'll do to another pretty QB comes along.
I know, I know......TWSS.
Re: 2016 Football Commitments
TCU reached for Turpin last year and he turned out to be the star of their class. The same could happen with Wudtee. It's not an exact science and there are a lot of good players in our area. You would think Texas would have plenty, but TCU has been hurting us in North Louisiana. I remember last year, on their team that probably finished as the best team in the nation, they had 3 DL from West Monroe. They got the really good receiver from Bastrop this year.
Re: 2016 Football Commitments
Sonny Cumbie's child apparently goes to pre-school with one of mine. If we run into him, I'll ask him nicely not to pursue Wudtee.

Again, there's only room for one (1) QB on OSU's team. The Wide Receiver position is different.

Starter
Mason Rudolph was rated by ESPN as a 4-star, and the #8 pocket passer in the nation in 2014.
John Kolar was signed last year and is red-shirting, this year. ESPN rated him a 4-star prospect and the #3 pocket passer in the nation.
Keondre Wudtee is rated as a 2-star by ESPN, and is ranked as the #59 pocket passer in the nation.
It is obvious that our coaches see a great deal of potential in Wudtee. He will be invited into the program, with the understanding that his first year would be spent working with the strength and conditioning team to get him into P5 playing shape. He's stating he is currently 195 pounds, and his coaches say he is a workhorse in the weight room, even now. I'm guessing they'd spend that first year getting him up to 205-215 pounds while working on his mechanics, which could use some work.
But without a doubt, our coaches obviously see something in the young man that the HS scouts do not. But if he's not willing to wait and be patient, he may fall back into Tech's lap.
What is P5 playing shape and how does it differ from G5 playing shape?

P5 playing shape means you have the ability to maintain eligibility with illegal drugs coursing through your veins.
Re: 2016 Football Commitments
Could be a blessing in disguise. There is someone out there for us. We hopefully are set for the next 4 years with either JMAR or WIlson. Not really worried about QB commitment. Good luck Wudtee. Sure you will make the best choice for your career. That worked out really good for your LSU buddy, right?
Re: 2016 Football Commitments
Ah just four years ago we had a recruit named Dixon who we were sweating as others made late runs at him. But he had given his word and apparently that means soimething to men in Strong, Arkansas. We need to recruit men.
Re: 2016 Football Commitments
I don't lose to much sleep these days over a decision that an 18-19 year old kid makes. Tech has a long standing history of good to great college QB's. In the end we will be just fine, with or without Mr Wudtee.

Hmmm....smart guy you are. Seems La Tech has offered six and have whiffed on them all, using your lame logic. Nobody even showing a bit of interest at this time. How do you explain that? Are you going to tell your new recruits that THEY are "Plan G or H?"
You know the truth is you cast many lines hoping to get a nibble or two. That's how recruiting works. I'm sure you know this, but you'd rather be a "smart guy. "

The pounding you take, week after week, from the larger and faster and stronger d-lineman at the P5 schools can take quite a toll on a QB that isn't in great shape and carrying some weight himself.
You can act all hurt about this, but you know it's true.

I know what is true? I don't know that you lift weights and run any differently at OSU than we do at Tech, so again how does getting into P5 shape differ from how we get our kids into shape? Especially considering our S&C coach has worked with P5 and NFL athletes before. Hell my son who is a HS athlete trains alongside elite college athletes during the summer at places like STACK and Velocity and the Michael Johnson Performance Center here in D/FW. P5 schools don't have secret techniques to get kids into football shape that everyone else on the planet isn't already aware of. You can act all hurt about me calling you on a stupid statement that you made but you know it was still stupid.
Re: 2016 Football Commitments
If Vernon Butler lays you out in practice, you're going to be as sore as you get. You're not any better off getting hit by a Big 12 DL. If Dixon runs over a CB, that guy has been hit as hard as he will ever be hit. No Big 12 RB or blocking WR could hit him any harder.

Yes, that's what I've been saying. It rolls down hill. We had our #1 guy for 6 months (like you did). Then you lose your guy and everything blows up. We lose our big fish, you land your small fish (same guy), we are now in the same shape you were, looking for someone who was not our top choice. We will probably get someone who is committed to an FCS school and then that school will be in a bind.

FCS School?
