Re: What is Systemic Racism?
Only a racist would note and care about the racial make-up of ANY specific group. What is the racial profile, and while we're at it, the sexual (not gender, that's for language) profile of say.....Walmart's northern most store in Topeka, Kansas right now! This shift. How many whites? blacks? orientals? How many males? females? and those who are not sure?
Not picking on Walmart. So...what is the racial composition of Chicago's city employees? Detroit's? And, how about....Fargo, Montana?
Who cares about such things? Really? Only a racist or a sexist would look at the demographic make-up of ANY group. We're not supposed to care about such things. Especially when it comes to hiring practices. Right? Aren't we supposed to be "color blind" and "gender" neutral?

What are the odds that if you picked 91 random people for a job you would get 89 white people?

What are the odds if after I flip a coin, it comes up heads, that the next flip will also come up heads?

89 out of 91 times? Very very very low.
Re: What is Systemic Racism?
Wrong answer to my question.
But, in the bigger picture, on this whole off-base "systemic racism" contrived crapola, Charles Barkley weighed in, and in his comments you find everything wrong in the argument. Here's the single biggest gaffe. Barkley was speaking on the problems in the inner cities, mostly black neighborhoods, lousy schools, high crime rates, drugs, etc... and Barkley says "we have to give them economic opportunity."
We have to give them economic opportunity.
If you don't see the HUGE problem in that statement, you are part of the problem too.

That is kind of the point of the intern program - opportunity. In this case, given almost exclusively to white people.
Re: What is Systemic Racism?
You are part of the problem too. I'm shocked.
Not!
Re: What is Systemic Racism?
Sounds like a hate crime (hitting both races) to me. And reading on the Prof. actually get's it.
Former Vanderbilt professor: Elementary school's 'white privilege' flyer meant to 'instill shame, guilt among white youth'
http://a57.foxnews.com/hp.foxnews.co....png?tl=1&ve=1
A well-known former political science professor sounded off on a North Carolina elementary school's flyer detailing "white privilege."
Earlier this month, an eight-year-old in Raleigh brought home a worksheet discussing "white privilege" - which the school later said was a project of the PTA and not the curriculum.
As FoxNewsInsider reported:A North Carolina mother is questioning her son's elementary school after the second-grader brought home a sheet detailing white privilege.
Amber Pabon
said her eight-year-old brought home the paper from Hunter Magnet Elementary School in Raleigh. The school said it was sent home with students by the PTA and was not a lesson taught in class.
She said her African-American son then proceeded to ask her questions about whether white people "are better" than him.
The PTA said the sheets were meant for parents, arguing the campaign has received positive feedback and is aimed at "generating awareness and empathy" in the community.
Dr. Carol Swain, a former Vanderbilt professor and 2018 Nashville, Tenn. mayoral candidate, said the flyer is "part of the ongoing indoctrination... designed to instill shame and guilt among white youth."
Swain called the white privilege flyer "inappropriate" and disagreed with its premise altogether.
"It's misguided. They're confusing social class with white privilege," Swain said. "Privilege is colorblind. It all depends on your resources."
Fox & Friends reported the flyer laid out one example of alleged white privilege, by noting that President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are both Caucasian, while governors are reportedly "96 percent white" and the owners of men's football teams "97 percent white."
Swain said the flyer and other paraphernalia like it may cause the opposite of the intended effect.
"It's not sensitizing them to racial differences and it's very polarizing," she said. "I don't believe that causing one race to feel guilty about things that happened generations ago is going to bring us together."
Watch more above.

Smart lady. I’d vote for her.

JEFFERSON CITY Concerned about the plight of black people in her Missouri district, a Democratic state senator on Tuesday called for reparations for former slaves and criticized her own party for taking African-American votes for granted.
Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, criticized white Democrats, such as U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, saying there's "no difference" between them and Republicans. Both parties, she said, have failed black people.
“Neither one of them give a heck about the black community, only the votes," Chappelle-Nadal said.

I agree...any true "former" slaves still living should get reparations. Not their descendants, them.

Definitely. I would even argue they are due ten fold the amount they helped their owner make during their time as slaves.
Re: What is Systemic Racism?
In my post #541 I said "Fargo, Montana." Isn't Fargo in North Dakota? :icon_roll:
