PUT THOSE GLOVES AWAY!
The CDC has changed their mind. AGAIN! Now --in a brand new report-- they say you can't really catch the virus from touching objects or surfaces. So, our "scientists" got it wrong again! :icon_roll:
These guys are about as reliable as as bunch of 6th graders. Just one more example of "scientists" being being over-rated. What a bunch of Bozo's.

I know you guys don’t read the articles. The CDC guidelines don’t match the headlines. Reread what they actually said:
"It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. This is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, but we are still learning more about this virus," the CDC wrote.
You will note that that is not remotely “you can't really catch the virus from touching objects or surfaces” as you characterized it. Reading. It is something we all learned in elementary school.

Another business "bites" it, thanks in part to the lockdown. The Natchitoches Alligator Park has announced they are closing permanently. Citing this pandemic shutdown as the final straw they will not reopen, after 23 years of succesful operation. It is true that two floods hit them hard, especially the one 2016 a "500-year flood" that inundated the park and kept it close from March thru September that year. Then another mini-flood hit them last year, they lost a month's revenue. Now, they haven't been able to open this season at all due to the virus mess.
This is just one more example, one more nail in the coffin, for those who are responsible for this economic collapse. The Chicoms bear the brunt of the blame and they should be severely punished, HAMMERED into submission with all-out economic "war" aimed at total implosion of their economy. Crush 'em! And crush WHO right along with them. Next, all those here, in this country who have either purposely or by foolish misguidance contributed to the economic calamity. Some, we know, the Dem guvnors, are following their marching orders designed to wreck the economy. They should face a fair trial then be summarily executed by firing squad. Others, like Dr. Fauci, are probably just stupid goofballs (although I think he has a financial rooting interest in this...) and simply are wrong in their assessment of the situation. There are others who MIGHT have had the best intentions...no, seriously...some have made honest mistakes in their analysis of the data. Others KNEW there was (is) two sides to the story but chose to error on the side of caution...and the economy be damned! These folks don't deserve to be shot, but they should pay via the siezure of all of their financial assets, right down to their kids' bikes, and that money used to make (token) restitution to all the truly innocent victims of this virus hoax.
And this folks....is why there is a 2nd Amendment. Read into that, what you will...

Elections have consequences. Competent leadership at the POTUS would have been helpful.
All of you Trump supporters share the blame.
Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
You mean the “leadership” who said the threat of infection was way overblown? Or the leadership that said Trump didn’t react quickly enough or adequately to stop the spread of a virus that they just claimed wasn’t serious? Or the leadership that has kept states closed or largely closed and has cost thousands upon thousands of jobs? No thanks.

All of that happens when you have lack of leadership at the level of POTUS and a POTUS that appoints leaders to HHS and CDC based on loyalty and party orthodoxy rather than competence.
Trump refuses to be accountable for anything so this is what happens when the man at the top constantly passes the buck.
Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
Wait, we aren’t talking about the same thing. I’m talking about the Dems who have been wrong at every turn. Aren’t those the people you think would be good leaders?

We only have one President that overseas the agency responsible for disease control. We only have one President who wasted months of time to marshal a coordinated interagency response and set clear priorities on a national strategy. We have only one head of state that deals with China and got fooled by them. We have only one President with access to the powerful bully pulpit of the presidency to influence states and US citizens on a coherent message and strategy as to what should be done to control the disease.
He failed spectacularly at every turn.
He said China had it under control.
Then he said it was a hoax.
Then he said it was serious and millions would die if we don’t take lockdown measures.
Then he said that citizens should resist the lockdown.
He pushed HCQ as a treatment when Fauci and the studies didn’t support it.
Now he says it is China’s fault.
He has been all over the place but he has only been consistent with one part of his message: it is someone else’s fault.
Why do you want a president that doesn’t believe he is responsible for anything?
Wake up sheeple.
Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
We will just have to agree to disagree. I feel like Trump did all he could with the information that the INTERNATIONAL health community was telling him. He is not a politician who is trying to please one side of the aisle or the other. There is enough blame to go around. We don’t only blame James Davison when one of his drivers fails to deliver on time or has a traffic accident. Why does blame only go to the top when not concerns Trump?

Trump CHOSE which voice to believe. Unfortunately he chose the voices on FoxNews and Xie over people like Pete Navarro who was on the ground in China and Nancy Messioner who is the Director for Immunization and Respiratory Disease at the CDC.
Turns out his gut instincts, which you guys normally celebrate led Trump completely astray. That is because his “gut” is really just a filter that interprets information as to how it will make him look if it were true. This leads him to discredit ideas that are bad news for him politically over information that, if true, would help him politically.
Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
And yet...while Trump is the president for all 50 states, it's the Dem-led states struggling the most...including Louisiana. If this was simply a case of poor leadership "at the top" we would see mostly consistent issues across all 50 states, with whoever was guvnor, Dem or Repub, irrelevant. But, that is not the case. For the most part Repub-led states are doing okay to very well, and it's some of the Dem-led states where the crisis is worst. But, unlike the finger-pointing Goosey, who only resides in his TDS political world, I don't place all the blame on those Dem guvnors. Like everyone else they have had to deal with conflicting information, and like everyone else, found themselves in a two-month hole thanks to the lies of the Chicoms, aided and abetted by WHO.
BUT!!! and for this I do place blame, there has been an inconsistent and just blatantly obvious attempt to wreck the national economy for political purposes. How do you justify liquor stores and abortion clinics open, but mom & pop hardware stores, grocery stores/delis, and churches closed?

Here is a Summary of the Public Health System of the US:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK218212/
Quote:
The federal government plays a large role in the public health system in the country. It surveys the population's health status and health needs, sets policies and standards, passes laws and regulations, supports biomedical and health services research, helps finance and sometimes delivers personal health services, provides technical assistance and resources to state and local health systems, provides protection against international health threats, and supports international efforts toward global health.
And if there is still any confusion...
Quote:
Leadership
The Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services is chosen by the President of the United States and sits in his Cabinet. The head of the Public Health Service, the Assistant Secretary for Health, is also appointed by the President. The Surgeon General, who is also appointed by the President, acts as an adviser to the Secretary and the Assistant Secretary.
So how would you rate the federal government’s response to this? And the leadership?
Piss poor obviously.
