If you are going to claim the windmills failed, the fossil fuels failed us worse. The windmills were the least of our problems. That was directly from the mouth of the CEO of ERCOT.
I am not hating on fossil fuels. The problem was that our deregulated native utility system in Texas failed because it caused a race to the bottom...lowest cost provider wins.
Again, not the the specific way someone dies as a result of this failure of Texas makes a difference,
but people are in fact dying of hypothermia (“freezing to death”, for Trumpists) in their homes in Houston.

The energy shift is coming, if not here. If we want to lead it rather than buy the technology from China, we should support it. It is going to be disruptive. People need to be prepared.
Fossil fuels are not going away anytime soon. Not saying they should. In fact, it helps pay the bills.
