Do you remember Bob Steele?? He was the guy who would jump off a roof onto his horse and ride off.

Neutered as a child, or result of a stunt accident?
Re: If you want a thread to die
Hoot Gibson. There was a 5'5" southpaw shootem-upper.:D
(okay 5'9" with his boots on)
He could kick tail and never ever have his hat knocked off. All the bad guys couldn't swing that low.

Yes, near the end of his career, when his days of jumpin' on horses were over -- he played a reluctant member of the lynch gang in Hang 'Em High. He was the only one of the lynchers Clint Eastwood's character chose to forgive.

Wow...you did your homework!!!
Re: If you want a thread to die
Remember the Three Mesquiteteers? Seems like Bob Steele was one at some time. I know John Wayne was.
Re: If you want a thread to die
Just Googled them, and yes Bob was in 21 of the films. John Wayne only in 8.

I wasn't sure about Bob Steele and it turned out he was in more than John Wayne. I didn't know they made so many. Remember Al Bolton had a TV show on Channel 12 about four in the PM and he showed the old B westerns. Lots of old Roy Rogers (not the 50's), Gene Autry etc.

I grew up in Shreveport and remember that. I believe it was Al's Corral. Also, there was a Captain something?? that showed Popeye cartoons. It seemed like he was half drunk all the time. He got fired for cursing on the air!!
