I'm watching the Baylor at OU game, while listening to the Dogs. By the way, Oklahoma is wearing white helmets today too. First time I've seen that.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
Dish 441 is airing the game
-
Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
That was the only "pay" TV service in the whole country to show it live as far as I can tell
Over-the-air stations are great unless you live somewhere without an affiliate, like the 4th largest city in the country...

Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
Csn Chicago had it listed until Thursday - hopefully basketball season won't be like this for our7 games - masn/masn2 & altitude/alt2 appear to be airing cusa asn games. Cox sports will show 6 of 7 live

Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
Yes they did. That is where I watched the USM game. I was really disappointed that they replaced UAB game with infomercials.

Did they have hs football at 1?

Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
Not sure. I had Baylor-Oklahoma game on TV on mute
-
Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
I successfully avoided my phone and BB&B until 2:30 to catch the game with no idea how it would turn out. Other than it not being live, good broadcast by ASN.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
Fox College Sports is actually three stations: Fox College Sports Atlantic, Fox College Sports Central, and Fox College Sports Pacific. http://www.foxsports.com/watch/fox-college-sports
I don't know about other providers, but I know the stations are on channels 608, 608-1, and 608-2 on DirecTV.
One would think that there would be an on-line guide for each channel, and I guess technically there is. But the guide is in the form of a PDF file for each channel that currently lists the programs between now and December 31, 2014. I'm guessing the files are updated from time to time. The LA Tech - Old Dominion game will be shown several times, but only live on Fox College Sports Central. You can download the PDF files and do a search on "Louisiana Tech". The game is not showing up on my DirecTV guide at this point (just says "to be announced").
Here are the links to the PDF files (you can also click on the station logos on the main website http://www.foxsports.com/watch/fox-college-sports). The below links will probably not work when the files are updated:
http://www.foxsports.com/content/dam....14%20FCSA.pdf Atlantic
http://www.foxsports.com/content/dam....14%20FCSC.pdf Central
http://www.foxsports.com/content/dam....14%20FCSP.pdf Pacific

That explains a lot. I wondered why there was very little shown on the channels on DirecTV, especially when the guides from the website shows a lot more things. Hopefully someday the FCS channels will be full-time on DirecTV - perhaps at the same time DirecTV shows all the ASN games. I'm still miffed about the LA Tech-UAB blackout.

Apparently "blackout" has taken on a new meaning.
There is a lack of communication between Sinclair, ASN, CST, Direct, Dish, and OTA stations. Tech is also out of the loop, but until they were made PAINFULLY aware, they ignored it.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
Fox College Sports is only available as SD via DirecTV. Is that the case regardless of provider, or do some folks get to watch the games in HD? Watching a game in SD is better than not seeing it at all, but I am spoiled I guess - I much prefer HD.

Here is information on Root Sports Southwest, the replacement for Comcast Sports Houston that starts programming on Monday. Good news as it appears that RSSW will be picking up CSN Houston's ASN contract based on its teams list...http://rssouthwest.itmwpb.com/teams/

This is great - it will be directv channel 674. And I won't have to get sports package for basketball (assuming no conflicts withRockets)

Because Shreveport would be considered Mavericks territory (Rockets blacked out), you should get alternate programming those nights anyway as long as subchannels are provided by DirecTV. Hopefully the same would hold true for cable systems that pick up the network.

This season they have more MWC football than C-USA - they aired the Rice games on CSN Houston - but 3 tech basketball games will be shown in the next two weeks (11/21, 11/23, & 11/28) - One you will not see if you live in the Houston Rockets viewing area (Houston, North Louisiana)
http://www.mydish.com/support/filestream.ashx?ID=241
Hopefully, more ASN football games will air next season - Root Sports SW does not need to have the same programming as Fox Sports SW - other Root Sports have the FSN programming.

On the other hand, coaches and especially our admin are fair game to me because they are getting paid. Expressing displeasure about coaching is limited in what it can do, but calling out our admin usually gets their attention to make things better. I believe it's our job as fans to keep our admin accountable because if we don't, then nobody else will. Re: 2014 Football Schedule
With the Playoff committees recent announcement, I think it's fair to say Lamar University isn't long for Baylor's 2015 schedule. Baylor will have to replace Lamar. And the Bears may not want to keep a "down" SMU on their 2015 schedule either. So the way I see it, they (and we) have three (3) dates to work with: Sept 5th, Sept 12th & Sept 19th. Hopefully T-Mac is on the phone right NOW!!!!!

But I would love to see LA Tech open the 2015 season against Baylor in the newly remodeled JAS. Bryce Petty will be gone, and it will take Baylor a few games to get their feet wet and know what they are doing. It's a great time to catch Baylor off guard.

This would be huge!!!! And we would be trading Baylor an away game for an away game! I doubt they would consider driving over to Ruston rather than up to DFW, but the difference we would make in OOC upgrade may make the difference!!

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Who will replace UAB on our schedule?? Charlotte?? With decent QB play, we could go 8-4. We would probably lose to Rice and WKU but the rest of the CUSA looks beatable. We schedule an FCS game and show up... We could go 2-2 in OOC play. Gotta beat ULL and FCS. MSU and Kstate are gonna be tough ones.

We will beat Rice and WK again.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
We need to schedule BYU at home for 2016 and then the return for 2017. They still have an opening for a road game in 2016.
-
Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Since CUSA only had 13 teams this past yr seems like they could put Charlotte in UAB's
schedule last yr and switch playing locations and it would be done. They may want to over
complicate the process though
-
Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Charlotte at home could be that 7th win we may desperately need. Not counting chickens, just saying that could be a blessing given our schedule next year.
-
Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Exactly what I was thinking!
-
Re: 2014 Football Schedule
.... or try to get Illinois for a one and one. They usually play one road OOC game per year, and have a opening in 2016. I'm sure they would like some revenge.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Rice essentially brings everyone back and WKU brings back key players. The good news is that we are always gonna be more talented than Rice and it's usually discipline that they beat us with. WKU still won't have a defense and we will. ODU, UTEP, and North Texas won't have QBs. Southern Miss may be a toss up as they will bring back a solid core but haven't really gotten over the hump. If we lose to Charlotte, ULL or an FCS school next year season will be over quickly. We must take this three wins, finish ODU, UTEP and UNT, and win one of the other three conference games to get to another bowl. If we beat WKU and Rice, than WKU will have to come back to Ruston to win a Conference title.

I don't think we know who we'll play out of the East especially now that UAB has dropped out; may not be WKU/ODU.

I would continue to advocate for a grudge match with the Demons.

I don't normally advocate for FCS games. I'd prefer that Tech only play them very occasionally, if ever. As a fan of the sport, I don't like seeing any FBS programs playing FCS teams.
In this case though, we must right a wrong. Our team and our fans deserve a shot at revenge on those sorry SOBs from Nakatrash.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
I say, 'who gives a damn what people in Natchitoches think'? They won a game - one game! We won a bowl game and played in a conference championship - roles reversed they never would have accomplished what we did. Hell they didn't even win the Southland! Do they really think that C-USA is the same caliber conference as the Southland????
It's like my Texans worried that the lowly Cowboys squeaked out a win from us this season (notice how I did that - HD)!;)
We do not need to play them, McNeese, NLU, or Grambling! Our 6th home game needs to be a big name and we need to fill the house! Then and only then can we move on!

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
It's not what people in NatShitToeCheese think that concerns me.
I'm more concerned with what the people think in Vienna, Calhoun, Spearsville, Lillie, Lisbon, Junction, Haynesville, Minden, Dubuach, Arcadia, Jonesboro, Quitman, Homer, etc ...

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Having said that, I would still rather play a P5 for our 6th game, even if it's in S'port.
But if we must play a FCS, then it must be NSU.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Ok, good. I'm hopeful we can steer clear of WKU until maybe the championship game.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Anybody want to lay odds on a home and home with UMass now that they have gone independent?

Great for MBB
Weak for Football

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
They will be independents for the next 2 years. I could see a home and home for us.

I think they get to stay in the MAC for one more year (2015).
But for 2016 -- I hear New England is beautiful in autumn.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Yeah, that's kinda what I'm thinking. They aren't a bad program and to play in Gillette Stadium would be flicking awesome in 2017.

Not feeling it. I compare it to LaMon fans being excited about the home and home they got with New Mexico. If a home and home does not help us draw fans in our place why do it? BYU, Army, Navy, etc..

Recruiting, players getting to play in an NFL stadium, exposure in a new market, likely wins, relationship building, etc. You know there is much more to OOC scheduling than simply putting butts in the seats.
That said, I'm not feeling UMass, but I'd rather play UMass than Bowling Green. I still don't get the BGSU deal.

Who put the BGSU deal together?
Do you really believe a young man will be lured in by, "Look, we play in the Patriots stadium in xxxx!"
I'm guessing UMass is close to a done deal or the news would not have leaked.

BVDV. McClelland has yet to officially schedule a football game.
No, I don't think a recruit would be lured by simply playing an OOC game in an NFL stadium, but I think it would be part of the recruiting pitch. The recruits know our future schedules and like knowing they will play P5 teams and in NFL stadiums. Look at the trend of the kickoff classics in NFL stadiums and the bowl games popping up in NFL stadiums. That's the only way I see we could sell playing UMass...unless it included a basketball home-and-home, but I doubt we'd think of that. There's nothing to sell about Bowling Green.
Why do you think this news leaked? I'm not reading anything into it.

One of my sources has been getting info to leak back to THE BBB. Sounds like the UMass deal may be one of those "rumors".

I would take a home and home with the Univ of New Mexico IMMEDIATELY!!! WTF? That's beats the hell out of having only 5 home games.
HONEST QUESTION: Why can ULM's AD schedule so much better than our AD? Maybe LA Tech should consider hiring ULM's AD. And yes, I'm DEAD SERIOUS. Having only 5 home games is unacceptable.

Re: 2014 Football Schedule
Any FBS non conference home game is a win right now. MAC, MWC, AAC home and away games gets us in new markets on an even playing field.

I am all in on our AD-- think he is destined to be superstar-- not sure you have any idea what he is acomplishing with our budget and the POLITICAL connections that we need to advance program. The work he began in AUGUST to develop relationship with HOD bowl paid dividends. The man has a reputation for squeezing every dime out of budget-- we are in great hands with Tommie and the day we need someone from Northeast to bail us out is the beginning of our demise ---
