Reasons to play first weekend of Dec as opposed to end of Nov:
1) Student attendance is (understandably) depressed on quarter break. (NOTE -- I do NOT fault the students for this)
2) Opportunity for double-header with basketball following a Dec afternoon football game
3) Built in excuse to serve nog at final tailgate. (because nog in November just doesnt seem right)
4) Cold weather football freakin rules. And while that's by no means garaunteed in North La, it's more likely to occur in Dec.
5) One less week to get "rusty" prior to bowl season.
I am hopeful our leadership is working with the other schools to negotiate an amended schedule.

I'd like to see us schedule USM in Ruston for 2015. Hopefully it will be a conference game but if not we would be playing them on the 80th anniversary of our first match-up. Wonder if any of those players are still alive? This could be a very special game.

I agree. Notice that Rice "postponed" their OOC game with us and kept their OOC game with UTSA.

Basically trading us for Houston, UH was in IC now OOC, We were OOC now IC.

Has anyone hinted at our 2013 schedule as yet? We are going to need another ooc home game! I also hope we move the USM game further back into the conference schedule.
Did Bruce imply anything like we would take Houston's conference schedule over, etc.?

My guess is Lamar will take the 9/14 over and USM will be pushed back.

You're right, I wasn't thinking about the 4 home CUSA home games, I was just thinking replacing the USM game.
