Re: I had a great time with Tech fans yesterday
Nice mobile football game home, Statboy. I need to borrow that one week a year to take to deer camp.

Let's pray to God Tech administration is smart enough to understand to the need for repeat customers and what it takes to accomodate them..
It is a legitimate concern. Tech has never had that many visiting fans tailgating and fans with RVs before so I think that would be something to improve upon
Re: I had a great time with Tech fans yesterday
Statboy, Tech has come a long way in it's gameday experience over the past 6 years. A lot still needs to be done. Thanks for pointing out what still needs to be done to make the experience even better. I talked to many of the Southern fans yesterday and thanked them for coming to Ruston. When someone comes to our house, I want them to feel welcome. Also, your band was awsome!I hope all the Jag fans had a safe trip home. :)
Re: I had a great time with Tech fans yesterday
Again guys I had a great time with the fans and my experience only help to confirm what I already felt. That the vast majority of Louisiana fans are perfect examples of what it is to be from or live in louisana and to drown out the noise from those that chose to be negative.
Thanks for the ride and good luck in conference play.

I don't agree.
Our concern should be for OUR FANS. It should be for making the game day experience more memorable for our own fans.
Southern is the exception for visiting teams, not the rule. We will NEVER have another team come into Ruston demanding this number of seats or RV parking.
Tech fans need more parking for their own RV's in a closer location. THAT'S what we should focus on along with more freekin' shade trees around JAS.

There were several fans that stayed in their RV's or on the bus, rather than take that hike to the stadium.
Those are good points. That is a long walk in 99 degree heat. There should have been a shuttle. Tech has never had this many visiting fans before. UL-L will not bring anything close. The AD should have realized how many Southern fans were coming and prepared for it.

I guess it was inevitable that sooner or later I would disagree with you on something - well maybe not disagree, but I hope that this was just the first of many many times to come that we have so many RVs and football fans to accommodate.
Re: I had a great time with Tech fans yesterday
Negative?
Nah, Statboy must not understand it's pure entertainment. But, he wouldn't take the bait today . Oh well! there'll be others visiting this forum from other schools. On to the next!

No, we agree on the number of RV's, but it it silly to focus on making extra accommodations for visitors who, at best, will be here every four years. Our RV situation is what we should focus on. I know of Tech fans who've been asking for RV spots for years. They've been ignored for years.
Building our own fan base is waaaaay more important that making guest comfortable.
When visiting other venues, I expect not to be harassed. Other than that, I'm on my own.
I'd have a difficult time with our peeps sitting around on Tuesday asking, "How could we have made it a more enjoyable experience for Southern?"

You're saying the same thing he did, just he wants it to be more Tech fans than visiting fans.

We kept the score under a 100. Ain't that enough?

At one time, I believe during Dooley's tenure, there were intentions of putting in hookups for RVs along Bulldog drive. I wonder what ever became if that.

IDK. I believe the RV spaces in the JAS parking area were expanded some this year. Like many other things, Dr. Guice seems to make positive things happen.

Right now we don't have enough fans to fill our stadium. I think we should have made their fans' trip or any other school as enjoyable as possible. He mentioned a shuttle and porta-potties. That's not that expensive. Why are we having a shuttle for UL-L fans who won't bring near that many people. UL-L will be lucky to bring 500.

The city is providing the shuttle for UL-L - not Tech
