Re: UL Bylaws Enforcement?
I just started looking into the finances of ULL. As DFM and Paw stated, it is a bit eye opening. I will spend more time researching - but first indication is that the financial condition of UL is highly concerning.
We really need our own system and breakaway from all the lose cannons in the UL system. When you don’t play by the same rules, you generally lose. Although in this case, UL-L may be in such a fiscal predicament that they may be their own worst enemy right now.
Re: UL Bylaws Enforcement?
We all know people who mismanage their household finances. They have all the fancy toys, like a $70,000 pick-em-up truck, ATVs, jet skis, etc...and debt up to their ears! They have no savings/investments to speak of and are at extreme risk of a financial collapse at any moment. They then point at a neighbor, who is frugal, little debt, has solid savings/investments, and drives a 2012 pick-up truck that is paid for, and the big spenders boast "separation, baby!"
Yep! fools and their money are soon separated.

History has shown, if you give Cousin Eddie enough rope, he'll eventually hang himself.

Does the UL board monitor universities in the system for fiscal negligence?

This is Louisiana. They probably monitor them to make sure they are fiscally negligent.

On paper yes. But for a fee, the Board members (and the elected officials who appoint them) can be convinced that everything is just fine.
Think of it as a "subscription" service. For a small recurring charge, you can access whatever public resources you want -- without further questions! Basically Cajun Netflix.
Re: UL Bylaws Enforcement?
Inquiring minds want to know details. Loving this thread!

- Napoleon Bonaparte
When quoting someone it is proper to give credit.

Sorry, I got lazy there. Good catch. For all his faults (and there are plenty), the Corsican remains my favorite historical emperor.
(Marcus Aurelius and Catherine the Great are runners up.)
