.....and now the worst thing is the complaining about Tech's inability to achieve very realistic expectations......

I remember 25K+ home crowds, seeing a orange bowl representative at the Joe, desperately trying to flee what was deemed a weak WAC conference.

Who considered the WAC to be weak? I have never come across anyone associated with Tech, even as a mere fan, who thought the WAC was weak. Didn't like the geography, that's true, especially after the EWAC departed and left us on an island. But weak?

Alright, maybe I was just young at the time, but I thought the consensus was besides Boise....it was kind of weak.

The WAC was never weak…
Nevada, Fresno State, Boise State, hell even Hawaii and Utah State some years.
There was nothing weak about the WAC.

The coaching in the WAC in the early 2000s was damn good: Pat Hill, Chris Ault, June Jones, Dan Hawkins/Chris Peterson. Similar to us in those days, none of the big boys got a week off against these teams. You may have multiple future College Football Hall of Fame coaches on that list.

Looks like Chris Ault is already in, as he should be. Invented the pistol offense that nearly every team runs now.
IMO, Chris Peterson, Pat Hill, and Jim Jones all deserve the nod
