I have and will continue to call them out when it happens. I try to do it in a humerous way, but I do try to give them a tinge of embarssment.
However, the real way to change the behavior of these suedo LSU fans is to win their hearts. The truth is, when we embarass them, we are probably losing them.
Tech has not done a good job of trying to win hearts. As I've argued before, from the vantage point of Louisiana Tech, it is our job, Tech's job, to win the hearts and minds of Rustonians and north Louisianaians.
Now, if I look at it from the view of a Rustonian and a north central Louisianaian, I believe we have a duty support Louisiana Tech with all we have. I try to educate the uneducatable of the importance of Louisiana Tech to Ruston and north Louisiana. It is a tougher sell than it should be.
So, I want to drive this home. When it comes to getting the disloyal to be loyal, from Tech's vantage point, we have to assume the job is all ours to win the hearts and souls of the fans. We cannot blame Ruston and north Louisiana. We have to take the bull by the horn and win them over. Needless to say, up until now, we have failed woefully in this regard.
As Hogdawg has argued for years, the first step is to become a consistent winner in athletics. Consistent losing is a morale killer.
