I hope you're right and I'm wrong. What makes you so definitive on this question? Feel free to PM me if it is too sensitive to post openly.

MWC wants AQ for Bc$ so if the pattern holds they will invite the top FOOTBALL programs from the WAC or the CUSA
Things have changed dramatically for the MWC though. They have the same clout that the WAC had this time last year. I don't see any CUSA teams wanting to join that conference. Maybe UTEP, please UTEP!

No way an east Texas team goes to the Mountain West without TCU in the fold. To me, Utah State and UTEP are no brainers with New Mexico State the only other one getting real consideration.
?????????????

I don't believe that at all.
Re: TCU is headed to the Big East! (New York Daily News reports)
MWC has no BCS-AQ chances whatsoever.
That being said, this conference talk is ridiculous. Just win. Tech hasn't done much winning lately. Winning takes care of everything.
I doubt a CUSA offer is coming. Just win. Win the WAC in 2012, or the Sun Belt, or whatever conference Tech is in. Win and win for a long period of time. Then you will find yourself more attractive to other conferences.
Has anyone ever stopped to think how ridiculous 'yeah, but we're CLOSER GEOGRAPHICALLY!' is as a talking point in all of this? Its embarrassing. Money is what matters. And winning = money. Win.
Tech had a decade to win consistently in the WAC and better prepare itself for this round of realignment. It didn't. The phrase 'putting the cart before the horse' comes to mind.

Its the truth. No one wants to travel thousands of miles to play bad teams.

It is to consider b/c of cuts in higher education and budget restarints...something that was not in the mix last time.

Sun Belt then?
Re: TCU is headed to the Big East! (New York Daily News reports)
UTEP to New Orleans is about the same distance as UTEP to Boise, so travel wise, in the MWC, UTEP would have one long trip in football only to Hawaii once every four years. In all other sports, every trip in the MWC would be shorter than trips to Tulane, Southern Miss, Memphis, UAB, Marshall, East Carolina, and UCF.

I'd agree if we were the ones making the call.
You think SMU, Rice, Tulane, or Tulsa are hurting for money? Its their call, not ours, and they couldn't care less about Louisiana's budget crisis.

I'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter. Bad teams are bad teams no matter what conference they play in. Let's put some better teams on the field, regardless of conference. Sure, Sun Belt, why not. Or Football WAC Subdivision. Win big and build some pride.

The highlighted is what I don't believe at all. Not the other.

You don't have to believe it -
Re: TCU is headed to the Big East! (New York Daily News reports)
IMHO, UTEP goes to MWC if asked.

It's not a Louisiana budget crisis... It's a national budget crisis...

A lot of truth there!
