Re: Presidential Election 2020
:) Very true!
James Carville sounds the alarm as Sanders surges in primary: 'I'm scared to death' for Democratic Party
Democratic strategist James Carville expressed his concerns as the Democratic primary race is officially underway, saying he's "scared to death" of the direction his party is going.
Appearing on MSNBC, Carville began by pointing to the success Democrats had during the 2018 midterm elections and stressed that it "matters" who the candidates are and what the party chooses to talk about.
"I'm 75 years old, why am I here doing this? Because I'm scared to death, that's why," Carville exclaimed. "Let's get relevant here ... all the Sanders people are taking pictures wishing Jeremy Corbyn the best. ... I don't want to go down that path."
The former Clinton advisor slammed the press corps for going "AOC crazy" over its coverage of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and pointed to more moderate candidates like former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who he noted "got a lot of votes" in Iowa.
"We've got to decide what we want to be. Do we want to be an ideological cult? Or do we want to have a majoritarian instinct to be a majority party?" Carville continued. "What we need is power, you understand? That's what this is about. Without power, you have nothing. You just have talking points."
Carville, who previously endorsed Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., for president, insisted that Democratic donors "will not give a popsicle to the DNC" with the current state of the 2020 field.

Hooray for Mayor Pete! I got him over the top by posting on some blogs and a FB page encouraging support. He promised me Notre Dame tix if I help him.

Homophobic much?
Pete is more qualified than Trump was, based on experience.

Right. So was Obama.
We don't need dumb ass politicians. We need business people with a set.
Pointing out the misuse of the wrong parts makes me a homophob and your acceptance of anatomically misplacing parts makes you normal...
Got it!

Pete was a Rhodes scholar, Lieutenant in the navy, and worked at a management consulting firm before going into public office. It is not like he is a career politician. He is brilliant and capable of being introspective.
Homosexuality is a normal aspect of a human population distribution. A population distribution with no homosexuality would actually be “not normal.” Red heads might not be the norm, but they naturally exist.
In am sure you have probably used parts of your body in ways that they weren’t “intended” as well. If it gets the job done, who are any of us to call it “misplaced.”

Please explain what experience he possesses that makes him more qualified.

I will let him explain it:
“I not only have more years of government experience than the president of the United States, but I have more years of executive experience than the vice president of the United States, and more wartime experience than anybody who arrived in the office since George H.W. Bush.”
Unlike Trump, though, he hasn’t been getting a $200,000 a year allowance since age 3.
Trump has declared bankruptcy 4 times and has zero experience accounting to any shareholders. His business experience is not exactly a strong selling point. Of course we have no idea how successful he actually has been because we haven’t seen his income taxes.
Btw, if you really want a successful businessman, Bloomberg should be your guy. He is twenty times as wealthy as Trump, and didn’t build his empire using daddy’s money. He also didn’t need to declare bankruptcy or not pay his contractors to achieve his wealth.

Which leftist boxes does he check?

So perhaps we're judging qualifications for being President of the United States by the wrong metrics? By all accounts with Trump's lack of government (political) experience, wartime experience, and having declared bankruptcy four times he should have been a dismal failure as President of the United States and we should be preparing to vote him out. Except by all accounts we seem to be thriving under his leadership (or management whichever it should be stated). I guess that could just be the luck of times (maybe any President would be looking good right now) or perhaps even Obama's strong leadership and plans over his 8 years of office set the stage for this inexperienced, bumbling fool to appear to be a competent leader.
While I definitely don't agree with everything he does (particular some of the tweeting) and even when he announced thought why in the world would he want to run, when a choice came between him and Hillary there was no choice. Say what you will but he appears to be a hard ass negotiator that does put America first.
Regarding getting $200,000 per year since age 3, you've got to wonder where he's gotten the drive to do all he's done. I think if I had been in the same circumstances I would have just coasted through life. Or gotten a high paying position with Burisma.
