Everything is off the field on the softball field and they are doing dirt work today so that's started. Baseball is maybe two weeks out but there's enough time to get it done. I've seen some of the underground drainage pipes already on site.
Got to hand it to Lincoln Builders! They have really done the deal on the whole project! Clearly they know what the heck they're doing.
Re: J.C. Love Field Construction
Camera seems down for baseball for a few days. Softball, they are leveling out the field. Looks great. Some lights are in for that facility.
Re: J.C. Love Field Construction
Looped by the field this morning. It was good to see they've started clearing the field of play. Debris is getting stacked for removal.

Re: J.C. Love Field Construction
A second huge pile of dirt has been dumped on the playing field. A big dumpster was being hauled out when I went by. Lots of Tech brick going up and a float loaded with Tech brick was parked on Alabama waiting to go in and unload.

....good stuff. Thanks for the updates. Please keep 'em coming for those of us not living in God's country.

A load of fence posts waiting to unload this morning. Judging on the sizes probably for the bullpen & auxilary areas and some of the outfield posts. Lots of exterior brick going up, just not in areas you can see on camera. Maybe in a day or two. Would take some pictures to post but I know I won't be able to get them to upload.

By the way, I have the same problem. I always have trouble uploading pics that I've taken with my own cell phone. Why is that?

I looked around to find the cameras this afternoon. The cameras look to be existing security units. I didn't see another's that could be used so I doubt there's anything that can be done.
But I wish there was. The view from the parking lot between Hale Hall and Memorial Gymnasium is absolutely impressive!
Re: J.C. Love Field Construction
Was in Ruston today and took the opportunity to swing by the new construction. The baseball stadium is looking good. It's bigger, or taller at least, as viewed from the intersection of Alabama and Tech Drive.

Re: J.C. Love Field Construction
Love Field is asymmetric. Needs more structure down the right field line for balance. Maybe some of kind of cheap seats with a beer garden!
Re: J.C. Love Field Construction
Symmetric baseball fields/stadiums are boring.

The fence line along Railroad Drive from Tech Drive to Wesley Foundation really needs to be cleaned up. But especially down toward Tech Drive. The overgrowth gets in the way of a great view of the ballpark.
They're hanging the last of the steel for the softball ticket office/ concession stand/ restroom building. That's really going to be a nice facility.
