Re: Presidential Election 2020
He may be a hard ass negotiator, but that hasn’t actually yielded any results.
His negotiation with Zelensky about a White House meeting in exchange for an announcement specifically citing Burisma and 2016 elections, is an example that directly contradicts your narrative about putting America first. Trump always puts Trump first.
As far as Burisma goes, I haven’t seen Hunter Biden’s name on any ballots.

Sure new trade deals with Canada/Mexico, Japan, China it's been a total waste of his time and definitely hasn't been of any benefit to the US all the numbers reflect that.
You, like the rest of the Democrats, have been harping on the narrative of asking for an announcement for so long its starting to get old and tiring. It was never proven to any real extent. Did he ask for an investigation into Biden (and the servers that are/were apparently in Crowdstrike possession), yes. Did he tie it to anything for his personal gain, I haven't seen it if its there. Even you say Burisma and the 2016 elections while Schiff and everyone else is talking about him trying to steal the 2020 elections. Trump is so scared of Biden he's got to get rid of him, OK. Joe Biden is his own worse enemy, between standing up to Corn-pop and stating he held up funds so a prosecutor would be fired. I don't care if his son was or was not working for Burisma do you consider that to be appropriate. I think there should definitely be an investigation into the Biden's just to prove that there was nothing 'fishy' going on, what say you?
Regarding your last statement, my response was to Trump (son) receiving $200K from father. Kinda of like due to Hunter (son) receiving money from Burisma due to Joe's (the father) "potential" influence. At least we know where Trump's $200K came from. BTW, I'm hopefully we'll never see Hunter Biden's name on any ballot, that'll be another train wreck.
Re: Presidential Election 2020
Yes, he was asking for Zelensky to announce investigations into (1) Burisma and (2) Ukraine interference in the 2016 elections. The only reason to make these specific announcements was to help Trump personally in the 2020 elections.
That was proven in the text exchanges between the “3 amigos” and Zelensky’s representative negotiating the specifics of the statement Zelensky was to make on CNN and the timing of the WH meeting.
Re: Presidential Election 2020
Hunter exploiting his last name has no bearing on Joe’s fitness to serve as POTUS.

You're probably right. I'm certain Hunter was hired for his vast experience and knowledge. I can't imagine any other reason. It just so happened Burisma was located in the Ukraine and that Joe was assigned over it.

Could be read in many ways, but I'll say it does have some issues. However, the last text kind of sums it up. "The President has been crystal clear no quid pro quo's of any kind". Could argue CYA?

This has been thoroughly debunked now. Trump and Zelensky have both denied that there was pressure or that they were directly negotiating aid or the meetings. Trump has been impeached and acquitted. Whether people in their orbit were negotiating these things is immaterial as Trump can't control what other people do. That's the Biden defense anyway.

Based on the timing of that text (Sept 9) relative to the whistleblower complaint (the House intel committee was notified on the complaint on Sept 9) it is pretty clear that was A CYA text after he was caught. And if there is any doubt, the very next text from Sondland removes it:
"I suggest we stop the back and forth by text."
Btw, it is also clear that Trump likes to double speak on the issue of quid pro quo (saying that it isn’t a quid pro quo that he asking for when what he is asking for an offering are in fact a quid pro quo):
According to Mr. Morrison, President Trump told Ambassador Sondland that he was not asking for a ‘quid pro quo.’ But President Trump did insist that President Zelenskyy go to a microphone and say he is opening investigations of Biden and 2016 election interference, and that President Zelenskyy should want to do this himself,” Ambassador Taylor would to Congress.
Trying to be a little cute for sure, but this sort of after-the-fact double speak doesn’t really undo the months long shakedown.

Funny, I don’t remember either Trump or Zelensky being witnesses.
If you watched the trial, you would have learned 3 important facts:
1. Zelensky was and is still under the US’s thumb and cannot possibly admit to being pressured,
2. The urgency expressed in the text exchanges demonstrated that Zelensky was well aware of the hold up (aid and the meeting) and it was his top concern, and
3. It would be impossible for Zelensky not to feel pressure given the importance of the aid and the meeting.
Tons of evidence was presented on these points. It is unfortunate they didn’t show it on FoxNews.

Again one can probably read into it what they want to. There's been several times I've been texting with my wife and said let's quit doing this just give me a call (-:.
Don't know about double-talk, but he does seem to be an evil genius or damn lucky. Reminds me of Les Miles and his game management that always seemed to work out.
One last question. So if the shake down was occurring why do you think President Zelenskyy said he felt no pressure?

Never mind, you stated your reason in Post 639.

The syntax is odd if he really just meant “call me”. Which happens also to be the text he sent to Volker after Volker sent this message:
“Are we now saying that security assistance and WH meeting are conditioned on investigations?”
Sondland: “call me”
The text of this August 11 email to Pompeo’s assistant from Sondland is telling:
“Mike – Kurt and I negotiated a statement from Ze[lensky] to be delivered for our review in a day or two. The contents will hopefully make the boss happy enough to authorize an invitation. Ze plans to have a big presser on the openness subject (including specifics) next week.”
