Supposedly, though, they didn't have time to implement their full desired offerings, so hopefully there will be improvement this year.

I don't think it would be reasonable to ask the lettermen to pay for it. If we did, then it would become a "walk of those that could afford it."

The letterman already has a brick on campus . . . if he/she graduated.
I will gladly pay for my acknowledgement. (Honors and awards is another story). This would be a way to provide funds for LTAC and to let lettermen to start a formal way of giving back to the university . . . if they haven't already.
We're are officially now into the 21st Century of college athletics fund-raising. The day of the gimme is over.
Re: First Look at GATAVision
Interesting facts...
Joe Aillet Stadium GATAVision is:- The largest HD video display board (25' x 45') in the WAC, built by the world leader in large format electronic display systems.
- The largest video display in N. Louisiana. It is almost 3X the size of the video board in Independence Stadium.
Independence Stadium Diamondvison
Scoreboard Static Panel- One 6' x 12' static panel
Scoreboard Tri-panel- One 12' x 12' tri-panel

Meanwhile, at the filthy rich BCS AQ U. of Tennessee-
The Jumbotron in Neyland Stadium is a first-generation SONY product. SONY no longer manufactures video boards, which makes it very difficult to obtain parts and service assistance.
In fact, for the last three years, the UT Athletics Department has purchased scrap parts from other screens to keep it functioning. It became apparent this fall ('08) that should the screen be turned completely off, it may not be able to restart. As a result, the screen is always on at least in its sleep mode.

Re: First Look at GATAVision

Maybe that's why Creer transferred.......
It is nice to have something better than that at a "big" school.

The satisfying thing about this "battle" BIG D is that we have generals & soldiers that know what the heck they are doing.

But that old mindset is going to be very hard to change....
Some folks have GOT TO REALIZE for you to PLAY, you have to PAY....

I know I posted earlier pix, but . . .
I took another shot of the new board from the same position (and the same lens) this morning for a better comparison.
Thanks, Coach Mick and DFM for further explaining my thoughts on 21st century athletics fund-raising.

Thanks, thats a huge difference. Also our board will be a little tall once they put the top arch (where the sound system will be installed).
