If I was going to create a college football playoff, I would use the 4 BCS bowls as an 8 team playoff. This would add one week to the season (a final four). Leave the rules for qualification as is, so that a school from a non-AQ conference can actually have a chance to play for a national title in the division they’re supposedly competing in. The rest of the bowl games could remain as well, as they don’t really mean anything significant anyway.

Obviously they mean something to players and fans, but they don't determine championships. That's what i meant.

I am just picking. But I was serious. Our opponent will think that the Poinsettia Bowl is insignificant (unless we play SDSU).

I have. He was part of a C&W show featuring Merle Haggard at the Monroe Civic Center in the early 70's. All I remember was Tanya Tucker. She was about 15 and I was about 5.
