Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
Last Monday I attended an open meeting in a very large room, with "X"'s put on seats where people could sit, leaving a minimum of 6 feet between everyone. Everyone wore a mask, even the speakers who were muffled by it. There was a guard at the entry way to the corridor using one of those point and click thermometers, hand sanitizer provided and made mandatory to be allowed past the guard station. All good, precautionary stuff. Except! I have just been informed at least one person was C-19 positive which that person learned Tuesday when test results came back, and now one other person is said to have contracted the virus, perhaps that night. We were told to go get tested ASAP. It's been 7 days and I feel great! Even for a dreary Monday....
The average and most common incubation period is 5 days, although the range has varied from 2-14 days. Chances are pretty good I did not contract the virus last Monday given it's been 7 days.
Also, obviously the taking of temps, which is commonly done in places, does not prevent a carrier from getting past checkpoints. I am a board member at the hospital and 3 times in the past 6 weeks I have had my temp checked at the door and allowed to proceed. I have to walk past several departments which have open-air waiting rooms along my route, and others' too. Yes, we are required to wear a mask. But, apparently the ole temp check is not a very good measure of potential risk.

Good thing everybody had a mask on.

If cases continue to increase at this same pace, Adler said they will soon have to "choose between returning to sheltering at home or watching as our hospitals get overwhelmed and we suffer many preventable deaths."

This is the Louisiana Edition, nothing in Texas concerns us. Just kidding.
Any indication on what may be causing this? Other than the usually. I saw that Harris County is particularly hard hit as are a few other places.

Confluence of everything. We are mostly reopened and people aren’t following the recommended precautions. Reason people aren’t following the precautions, IMO, are short attention spans and willingness to accept small sacrifice plus failure of leadership to drive the message around masks and social distancing to overcome American/Texan self-centeredness and independence. Stupid that mask wearing and distancing have become proxies for political ideology.

But political riots by Antifa/BLM in the name of cop killing and socialism are justified
Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
Wearing a mask will help you defeat the Government’s facial recognition system.
