Re: If you want a thread to die
CALL THE POLICE- WHEN YOU'RE OLD, AND YOU DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.George Phillips, an elderly man from Walled Lake, Michigan, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turnoff the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"
He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me."Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy, you should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available"George said, "Okay." He hung up the phone and counted to 30.Then he phoned the police again."Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot and killed them both; the dogs are eating them right now," and he hung up. Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

That would be funny if it weren't so true. I called 911 because I had received a threatening phone call saying someone was coming over to assault. It took the police almost an hour to arrive. Fortunately it was a hoax.

When I managed a Burger King for 7 years, we were always told to call the Sheriffs office if we needed the police there fast!!! It is true. They always got there quicker than the City police.

Went to Fayetteville and saw the game. Arkansas fans were nice to us, but campus police were assholes!!! Shuttle bus drivers were also assholes. I will not go to another game at that stadium!!

So, how many of you guys will upgrade to a suite in the new press box? Just wondering who will be contributing toward the extra $1,000,000 in annual revenue. We know at least 2 suites will be used at no charge.

Re: If you want a thread to die
This could happen to you.....
This is what all of us: 70+, other seniors, and kids (south of 60) have to look forward to!! This is something that happened at an assisted living center.
The people who lived there have small apartments but they all eat at a central cafeteria.
One morning one of the residents didn ' t show up for breakfast so my wife went upstairs and knocked on his door to see if everything was OK. She could hear him through the door and he said that he was running late and would be down shortly so she went back to the dining area.
An hour later he still hadn ' t arrived so she went back up towards his room and she found him on the stairs.
He was coming down the stairs but was having a hell of time. He had a death grip on the hand rail and seemed to have trouble getting his legs to work right. She told him she was going to call an ambulance but he told her no, he wasn ' t in any pain and just wanted to have his breakfast. So she helped him the rest of the way down the stairs and he had his breakfast.
When he tried to return to his room he was completely unable to get up even the first step so they called an ambulance for him. A couple hours later she called the hospital to see how he was doing.
The receptionist there said he was fine, he just had both of his legs in one leg of his boxer shorts
