This is a better Jamaica side than the one we faced in Austin as well. I expect 3 points, but they don't need to overlook this group. 6 points in this window is huge for the U.S.

Perfect weather (NOT!) for Mexico in Edmonton. Remember to convert the temperatures....
Snow at times heavy. Local blowing snow near noon. Amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind northwest 40 km/h gusting to 70 diminishing to 20 gusting to 40 this afternoon. Temperature falling to minus 8 this afternoon. Wind chill near minus 15. Clearing this evening. Wind northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light late this evening. Low minus 11. Wind chill near minus 15.
Would love for Canada to bite Mexico and that is the makings for it. I watched I believe it was Honduras play the US in Frisco one spring, it was in the 60's at kickoff and at halftime had dropped into the 40's with a little icy rain. Honduras was miserable in the second half. They came to Texas in March expecting warm weather, and had to borrow long sleeve under undershirts etc from FC Dallas. Most if not all of the central American players are warm weather league guys.
Weah!
1-0 after just 12.
But it didn't last long...Antonio goes upper 90 from 30 yards out with a blast to level after 22.
1-1 after long Jamaican goal
1 - 1 Final
Oh well, got a result...
Totally disjointed second half.
Lucky to escape with a point.
Canada 1-0 at the half on a goal at 45+2.
Dos a cero Canada at the 51 minute mark.
Mexico claws one back in the 90th minute. And came THAT close to a draw.

We should run the table in our home matches = 9 pts. The game vs. Panama on 3/27 is huge! We need to stay in the top 3, automatic qualifiers. The three road matches couldn't be any tougher. We have to get some results, even draws would be great. Wouldn't mind some help, such as Panama and CRC getting upset, even a draw, by one of the cellar dwellers like Honduras just blew last week...dang! And Pan and CRC need to get beat by Mexico and Canada, and draw each other, if they still have to play.
I love seeing Mexico lose! Hate dem los capullos. And Canada is for real. Nice job of "recruiting" (i.e. offering citizenship) world class players.
Here is the remaining schedule for each team in the octagonal. Mexico would seem to have the most favorable schedule with 4 games at Azteca and being done with Canada already.
Matches are scheduled 1/27, 1/30, 2/2, 3/24, 3/27, and 3/30.

If we get the 9 points at home and a draw or two against CRC and Canada TOP 3 is solid. Mexico is going to be in rare form from laser pointers in eyes, to homophobic chants, etc. and that's just going to be the fans in Azteca. We have never won a WC Qualifier there I believe so if we were to win they would probably burn it down before Tata and the players could even get out.
Panama has to come to us, Mexico, and CRC. Plus they still have Canada one more time. It is going to be hard for them to duplicate the point production in the last 6 games that they have had so far.
So our WC 2022 Roster is shaping up.
Starters that are locked in:
Wingers: Pulisic (23), Weah (21)
Midfield: McKennie (23), Adams (22), Reyna (19)
Fullbacks: Dest (21), Robinson (24)
Centerbacks: Zimmerman (28),
Questionmarks:
Who is your other Centerback?
Richards (21)? Brooks (28)?
Who is your starting GK?
Steffen - Great with feet, not so great between the poles.
Turner - Great between the poles, not so great with feet.
Who is your starting 9?
Pepi (18) - Taken a step back, sometimes gets lost on the pitch.
Sergeant (21) - Trouble with playing back to the goal
Morris (27) - Coming back from injury?
Pefok (25) - Haven't seen much
Dike (21) - Injury during the summer
Or do you play with a false 9? Which might be an interesting tactic that Berhalter could employ.
I think this team is (and should be) prepping for the 2026 WC Cycle at HOME! Take the experience of Qatar and with the youth coming up this cycle and build something incredible for 2026. You should have 95% of your starting team back for 2026! By then they will have played together for several years.
