Kendall threw it right to the defender on final interception. Odd as hell.
Kendall just dumped 10 gallons of gas on the dumpster fire. These commentators keep saying we are a good team. Did they watch the game?
Kick catch interference. Ball didn't hit the ground. And Skippy was right. Muffing the catch does not remove fair catch protection since the ball didn't hit the ground. Should have been 15 yards.
Skippy should be fired on the spot if the word "compete" crosses his lips in the postgame interview.
We found a qb ….. that is human!
How many times does Holtz make comments about how good UTEP is this year in the press conference?
Does he take the blame or pass the blame to the offensive line?
Does he have any player talk or none?
Chances the coaches show is canceled this week?
Chance that the radio sunshine pumpers talk about the positives and completely disregard the coach problem?
Worse effort of the year.
Well Skip got his conference WTF cost us the Western Division, out of the way. Now he can relax and game plan to get 6 wins and keep the people supporting him happy with a trip to the Mr. Clean Toilet Bowl in Cottonwood Falls Kansas.
I feel bad for the people who actually thought Holtz would coach the Dawgs to 7 straight wins and a conference championship showing. I think we can quit all the hoping at this point and just accept that Holtz is a terrible coach and a football program killer. He’s finally made us worse than ULM. Let that sink in!
That was the first time all year we got our ass kicked!
Utep is pretty good
I am done....
Only one "compete". But to his credit it wasn't directly about tonight's game.
Speaking of the media, one thing that hasn’t sat well with me at all is that Skip always did the weekly radio show rounds until the big loss at Mississippi State. He’s had position coaches sub for him ever since then. He needs to man up and fulfill his obligations, win or lose.
Hey, there’s some consolation in Holtz saying, “we’ve got to coach better.” Thank God, he thinks they can coach better because I was sure they couldn’t. Just kidding, he’s horrible and can’t do better. The proof is that he says that same thing after every loss and every loss leads to another loss.
This was planned preseason on The Company. Probably for The Edge too. But Skippy made it seem like he would be appearing on both at least one more time.
Cramer confirmed on the call-in show that the schedule of coaches who would appear was provided back in August. This week was "Guge" week.
I only watched the first half. Seems like our D came around in the 2nd half and actually played a decent game. There's no excuse for our poor offensive production. From what I watched, our tackles continued to be a liability. We rushed for less than 100 yards despite the fact that Williams was averaging 6 ypc. I didn't see the INTs, but 14/28 for 164 yards and 3 INTs is abysmal.
Perhaps this was our WTF game...I don't know. UTEP looked bad when I watched them, but they've got 6 wins now. I've defended the coaching in the first 5 games, but the end of the NC State game and the UTEP game make me think that, regrettably, Dwayne may be right about this season. If he is, it's time to move on.
In the meantime, I'm gonna watch the MLB playoffs and the Saints.
I’m hoping UTEP can find a way to win CUSA. I know they wont, but I hope they do. That would be the ultimate slap in the face to the Holtz fan boys when one of the worst teams in the history of college football can manage to win the conference, but Holtz can’t.
Kudos to Dwayne for calling this one.
LMAO at posters that predicted a 3-TD victory.
The Holtz lovers have a dilemma. On the one hand they say we have all this talent, yet we’re 2-4 with a bad loss to a crappy UTEP team.
I am SICK of this rinky dink, roody poo, non physical spread offense. We need to recruit some tight ends and learn how to play physical. UTEP whipped us up front. How embarrassing is that?
I don't even bother predicting Tech football anymore. You literally NEVER know what you're going to get. Credit to UTEP's defense too...they caused a safety and kept us out of the end zone all night.
This team was NOT PREPARED AT ALL for this game. I don't know what this team did for the last 2 weeks, but they certainly didn't prepare for UTEP. This game was a carbon copy of the embarrassing 38-3 loss to Georgia Southern in the NO Bowl last December. That team didn't look prepared either, but had a different QB.
I have never turned off the TV during a game before last night. I think we will go Sat. for the game, but if they play like this then, we will be done for the year. That was a disgusting display of poor coaching.
It’s not Rice per se, it all teams Tech should beat. I haven’t felt comfortable we were going to win any particular game in the last 4-5 seasons until the games were in hand because Skip always has a WTF game or two. I used Rice because we are on a 5 or 6 game win streak against them. So now that skip is Dana Dimels B*tch (11-28 at UTEP and 41-67 overall), he can add Mike Bloomgren to his list of CUSA daddies. I had to look him up, didn’t even know he was the head guy at Rice, but it’s his first headcoaching job and he is 9-27 overall. Time for him to spank Skip as well.
Even our former Rock Star is ragging us:
“ To Utep? Dang bruh… 🤦🏽*♂️”
-J’mar
Coach O is available at the end of this season
so, sounds like going to bed early was the right choice. So... who is getting piss drunk with me on Saturday?
There is ONE measure of hope....
It looks like a major embarrassment looms. UTSA has the tools to beat the crap out of us. I know they think so. Sincere will have his way with our "oops! I can't tackle" defense, and their defense, (their DC) is already scheming for their NEXT opponent...they have Skippy pegged, as does everyone else.
But!
and here it is. Taking a page from our eternal optimist, Champion, I am reminded that at least twice in recent years it appeared Skippy's Bunch was heading for a train wreck, vs. WKU and vs. UAB, and instead pulled out a win! So, if you are so inclined, hold onto that sliver of hope.
Go Dawgs!
I forgot that Holtz was in charge of the team. I’m still in shock that we lost to UTEP, and that’s worse than losing to ULM.
Skip gets the least out of the most talent than any other coach I've ever seen -
Been so since his first year on campus - for the next 6 years the talent was able to overcome his shortcomings for the most part -
The last two years the talent level has fallen off and his coaching has shown through - it's as simple as that
I'm glad I was busy doing something else this weekend instead of Tech football
Hell I might chose to bushhog next Saturday that's how put out I am with this mess
Among the 6 teams the Miners have beat so far, there are 2 FBS wins amongst them. Tech's only FBS win was over UNT (who has no FBS wins). And New Mexico's only FBS win was over NMSU (who also has no FBS wins).
But give some credit to UTEP. When they play bad teams, they win.
I think ULM would beat tech this year. Not even close.
I don't even care anymore. Skippy's already screwed up the 2021 season, so any good things that happen now won't really matter. After losing to UTEP, Tech is now in the position of "playing chase" in conference again. And we know how that has worked out for us.
I hope everybody enjoys the shit show in Ruston this weekend.
I know it's been said over and over, but our team simply wasn't prepared to play the game. Seemed to me like they felt like they could basically roll the ball out there and beat UTEP. That's not on the players, that's on the coach. There's really no way to spin it imo.
After UTEP drained 6 minutes in the opening drive and we went 3 and out, I told some friends it was over. Even with the turnovers, the defense had to give the ball back to our unprepared offense. I saw better blocking at my nephews peewee game 2 weeks ago. Our entire sideline looked like they were at a funeral.
I really wish they could beat us this year, because that’s the only thing I can think of that might get Skip fired. If he stays another 3 years, this program will be the same caliber of program as ULM. He’s a cancer that must be removed, and soon if we want to save this program.

For those who didn’t get to see Holtz at his finest.
For a minute I thought this was going to be an inside the huddle snippet of Holtz actually coaching, but then I thought and realized there’s no such thing, haha.
